You are fake news," during his first formal press conference following his election victory in New York City, Wednesday. President-elect Donald Trump's pick for Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson was grilled before a confirmation hearing at the US Senate, to approve his nomination in Washington D.C. on Wednesday. The former CEO discussed his ideal future relations with Russia. "We need to move Russia from being an adversary always to a partner at times and on other issues we're gonna be adversaries. It's not unlike my comments I made on China. At times China is friendly and at times China is an adversary, but with Russia engagement is necessary" said the nominee. Dozens of militants gathered in Wadi Barada, rural Damascus, Wednesday, before handing over their arms and dispersing, in accordance with a preliminary deal that had been reached between Syrian authorities and the leaders of anti-government groups, including the Free Syrian Army (FSA). Under the preliminary accord, the militants are to disarm while those who are not originally from Wadi Barada are to leave the area and head to the Idlib province. The agreement also stipulates that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) enters the area to clear it of landmines to prepare it for the repair works following sustained fighting in the area. Earlier in the week, the Syrian Arab Army attacked the militants from the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham [formerly Jabhat al-Nusra] in the Wadi Barada area.
