Dave Newsham is 23rd, ahead of Will Burns and Martin Dapper. Ant Wharton-Eales is 26th. There's a gap where Adam Morgan would have been. So Colin Turkington is there on his own. Chris Smiley has clear track space ahead of him. He's got Tom Ingram alongside. Matt Simpson hopefully will join in from the pit lane. Tom Chilton is ready, poised from the back of the grid. The drivers look towards the lights,.

Let's say, this group, all very well experienced around here. Michael Sweeney's been here enough times in the past to know where he can and where he can't. But he is, as you say, Dave, he is reeling in William Dunlop, isn't he? We can't forget, of course, that Guy Martin's in the second wave

The other option tyre carriers are Dave Newsham and Martin Depper. The field working its way down the Cascades. How difficult has it been for the drivers having the false start? Not too bad. They were only on the warmup lap. It was not as if they had a lap of racing and got fired up

Teammate Luke Davenport starts next from Josh Price, while Ant Whorton-Eales and a frustrated Stephen Jelley in his breathless Ford come next, ahead of the penalised Sutton and Hill. A fascinating qualifying session and an interesting twist at the end.

Then Mike Epps and James Cole, Martin Depper and Jake Hill on the next row, ahead, in turn, of Will Burns and Josh Price. Ollie Jackson is possibly starting from the pit lane. He wasn't on the grid when the green flag waved. Matt Simpson is there. Rob Austin and Mat Jackson, definitely two to watch, start at the back of the grid. Lights out, we're racing. Dave Newsham, from pole position, leads them away. Good start by Colin Turkington in the BMW,.

The band are battling back against an endorsement from right-wing extremist Richard Spencer, says their songwriter Afternoon, Martin! A couple of years ago I asked your mate Dave what the next Depeche Mode album would sound like. That, he said, was the million-dollar question. Turns out your new album sounds like a Depeche Mode album. Yes! There are certain things we can’t get away from as a group and we do have our unique sound. Having a singer with a distinctive voice makes songs instantly recognisable — there are so many bands that have interchangeable singers and I never know who they are. Continue reading...

Depeche Mode's new album kicks off with a dire warning that we're going backward as a society. Things go quickly downhill from there. "Look, that's what we do. It's about creating these atmospheres with this backdrop of the world we're living in.
