Watch more XXL surf here: http://win.gs/Sessions Few surfers love blizzard barrels more than New Jersey’s Sam Hammer, Mike Gleason, and Rob Kelly. Parts of the United States' northeast is piled with snow right now, after a blizzard ripped through town. While most people are trying hard to stay warm, diehard New Jersey surfers are out in the Atlantic Ocean, trading off one freezing tube after another. _ Experience the world of Red Bull like you have never seen it before. Click here to catch episode 1: http://win.gs/ChasingTheShotE1 After a glorious gap year from the world of competitive surfing, Mick Fanning and Norwegian photographers Emil Sollie and Mats Grimsæth teamed up to photograph something never done before...a night surf session under nature's most radical light show, the Northern Lights. With the high technology and natural phenomena side of things taken care of, Mick just wanted a good old fashioned surf trip, and with plenty of swell, some wild accommodation, and Kleiner and photographer Trevor Moran on-hand to record the results in a country that is incredibly new to surfing, that's exactly what he had. And for our ever-evolving Chasing The Shot series, this just might be our favorite release yet. Watch more XXL surf here: http://win.gs/Sessions Up-and-coming Australian madman Russell Bierke is tackling the world one crazy wave at a time. You might remember him as the precocious 18-year-old who won Cape Fear in 2016. The son of Hawaiian big wave surfer Kirk Bierke, Russell never had a choice, from a young age it was always charge hard or charge home, and that's just what he's done. Growing up on Australia's South Coast meant growing up on a diet of raw ocean energy, the Pacific endlessly broadsiding his hometown of Ulladulla and its plethora of shallow reef slabs and deep water bombies with swell...and it doesn't get much gnarlier than a big 'ol day at his local shallow reef slab Shipstern Bluff. Click play and watch Bierke battle a massive day at Shippies. _ Experience the world of Red Bull like you have never seen it before. THE images beaming from the screens of Cameroon’s state television channel, CRTV, show a country riding on a wave of glory. In February the national football team, “The Indomitable Lions”, beat Egypt to win the Africa Cup of Nations trophy for the first time in 15 years. In January a Cameroonian teenager became the first ever African winner of the Google coding challenge, an international programming competition. But turn away from the goggle box and the country is troubled. When the footballing trophy was brought to Bamenda, Cameroon’s third-biggest city, placard-carrying protesters joined the crowds of onlookers. And for almost two months the country’s young Google prodigy, along with hundreds of thousands of others, has been unable to surf the web because the government has shut it down in two English-speaking regions (see map). The plug was pulled as part of a clampdown on Anglophone activists in which more than a hundred people have been arrested and pressure groups have been outlawed.
