The status of the Syrian rebel forces has always become a serious source of concern ahead of peace talks, and that's no different this time with Monday's Astana peace talks looming. This time is a little different, however, with a significant rebel delegation agreeing to attend, but growing divisions among the various rebel factions, particularly along the lines of who their primary backer is. The Astana talks are brokered by Russia and Turkey, and unsurprisingly, the rebel delegation is overwhelmingly made up of Turkey-backed rebel groups, while the US-backed and Saudi-backed groups are taking a back seat, if they're sending anyone at all. The rebels who aren't in positions of leadership aren't too happy, complaining that the talks in general are meant to split the rebel force, and accusing them of being a Russian plot. The exclusion of al-Qaeda's Nusra Front also remains a major source of annoyance among some rebel groups that remain closely aligned to them.

Gender equality is a problem in Nepal, and the situation is especially dire in mountain communities, where a woman is often confined to a menstrual hut during her period as she is considered unclean. In rural Nepal, over 80 per cent of women suffer from domestic violence and around half are illiterate. Unsurprisingly, career opportunities are almost non-existent, with the overwhelming majority of women in rural Nepal employed as low-skilled labour, but an unexpected career path...

Lost in London Live, Woody Harrelson s first directorial effort, successfully captured an hour-and-a-half or so of scripted comedy in one take that was streamed onto theater screens across the U.S. on Thursday. It was a marvel of technology and coordination that required 14 filming locations around London and hundreds of crew members to pull off production during the wee hours of Friday morning, local time. Narratively, it was bizarre, culminating with everyone clamoring to meet Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe . (As you would.) The film presents a late-night misadventure based on what Harrelson claims are the mostly true events from 2002 . When news of an alleged marital indiscretion by the actor hits tabloids, Harrelson is compelled to prevent his wife from seeing it and, unsurprisingly, fails. His wife becomes quite naturally upset, inspiring the actor to join some friends (including a prince whose Arabic name he never seems to remember) for a drink instead of patching things up.

(credit: BT Sport) Ten months after its last price hike, BT has confirmed that charges for its broadband and landline services are being jacked up again. Additionally, BT Sport customers will—unsurprisingly—be required to pay £3.50 a month from the start of the next football season (August 1), the former state monopoly added. It has sunk huge amounts of cash into the venture, so a price tag at some point was inevitable. During the company's most recent quarter, ended September 30 last year, it said that broadcasting rights charges for BT Sport stood at £177 million—up £42 million to pay for UEFA games. Every once in awhile, the CIA gets its hands on a hard drive just full of data on American citizens, including millions of pages of text, videos and large amounts of photographs. So irrespective of long-standing prohibitions on the CIA spying on American citizens (apart from some very limited exceptions) they obviously are going to go through those documents. Today, the CIA released a declassified version of the procedures for handling the private data of American citizens. Unsurprisingly, this leaves open a lot of questions, with a lot of the rules detailing the minutia of the manner in which they search bulk data. The main talking point, which the CIA presented as a significant step , is that it defines actually which CIA employees are allowed to conduct searches of the bulk data they have, and that they actually need a reason to justify carrying out such a search.

There you have normal play/pause, skip and scrub controls, with repeat and shuffle options below them. If you tap on where the song details are on the now playing screen they will disappear to reveal a five star rating system, so you can let the iPhone 5S know which songs you favour. Tap again and the song details will return. There's a button in the lower right corner below the album art which will bring up all the tracks on the album you're currently playing. Of course you can now sign up for Apple Music as well, giving you access to millions of streaming tracks on demand. Apple's attempt to meld this with the traditional Music app hasn't been an unqualified success, and there are still various bugs that need ironing out. Video Videos are, unsurprisingly, handled in the Video app, where you'll be able to view all your movies, TV shows and music videos you have stored on the iPhone 5S as well as iCloud.

Gabe Newell and J.J. Abrams onstage at the DICE Summit in 2013. (credit: Kyle Orland) Valve Software chief Gabe Newell logged into Reddit on Tuesday to answer questions in an "ask me anything" thread . As expected, waves of fans shouted "HALF-LIFE 3?!" as if that blurt were a question. Unsurprisingly, Newell didn't offer hard answers about any closure to Valve's beloved FPS series. He and his coworkers have dodged such questions for years now —but he did offer a mix of pessimism and optimism regarding the Half-Life universe in general. Early in the AMA, when he was asked what his favorite single-player Valve game was, Newell answered that it was Portal 2 . It is very aggressive posturing, unsurprisingly, from the Daily Mail. They want to post it this way. She is slamming Europe, handbagging Europe, and we need to be careful about not drawing a really lazy similarity between her and Margaret Thatcher on this.

About four years ago Miller experimented with a "punch top can" design that had a little second tab the user could punch open with a key or similar. Unsurprisingly, a rather stupid news report emerged attempting to sow fear among parents, claiming that the design was meant to encourage the shotgunning of beer: This is about glugging , people, not shotgunning! So, Sidell, to address why this hasn't been done: My guess is that A) no company wants to deal with whatever perceived backlash Miller might have faced, and/or B) the added manufacturing cost is perceived as not worth it because C) customers ultimately don't care. This is what I hate about having a design background; you can't help but notice these little ways that an experience could possibly be improved, however minutely, then realize that most of society is not that interested. In any case, Sidell, or should I say Mrs.

Image 1 of 15 Image 1 of 15 17 Jan, 2017 6:00pm Jonathan Burn The Mazda MX-5 Retractable Fastbacks foldable metal roof adds a touch of extra glamour and refinement to an already great car Since day one the MX-5 has always been a two-seat soft-top roadster. But that hasnt stopped Mazda playing around with different bodystyles, concepts and special editions. For the first time in 10 years, however, the Japanese manufacturer has now launched a brand-new coupe-cum-cabriolet derivative called the MX-5 RF. The RF refers to ‘ Retractable Fastback ’ – essentially an electrical folding hardtop. The idea to introduce the RF was in the plan from the very beginning, and with the previous-generation MX-5 Roadster Coupe accounting for 80 per cent of UK sales, it was a bit of a no brainer. The roof, unsurprisingly, is the RF’s party piece. In place it looks like a coupe, but 13 seconds of tin-top origami, you have a beautifully proportioned open-top sportscar.

When Richter asked the pair what kind of car Kim bought for Yeezy, Colt was the one who rang in saying, "A $400K Lamborghini," but Kim gave us the better response: "He deserved it." We're sure he did! The reality star also admitted she's "mortified" by her onscreen death in Disaster Movie ! Aw, being killed in B horror movies is one of the perks, gurl! What? It's a comedy?? However, Cortana on the desktop goes further by being able to find files on your computer using natural language input such as “Find PowerPoint slides about the charity auction” and “Show me photos from December.” Windows 10: Universal Apps Windows 10, given it runs on every kind of device, unsurprisingly also features universal appsie: one app that runs on desktop, tablet, and smartphone. One such app Microsoft has showcased is Outlook, which has been redesigned to look and work alike on PCs, tablets and smartphones. Windows 10 also features a dedicated photos app across devices. For other universal apps–that will depend on whether individual developers choose to make their apps universal. Windows 10: Action Center Another great feature of Windows 10 that brings parity between PCs and Windows Phone devices is Action Center. This is a pane that appears over the disk (similar to macOS’s Notification Center) that give you notifications and alerts from all your different apps and messages.

As a result, while the old car’s architecture remains, it has been comprehensively overhauled; doubling the amount of high-strength steel in the body and shedding weight along the way. Rigidity, unsurprisingly, is up too – as is size, the model being marginally bigger as well as lower. Lower is good because Hyundai wants the i30 to look better too, citing design as one of the primary reasons why buyers chose the previous model.Increased dynamism is also on the agenda. The last i30 was worthy enough, but largely forgettable to drive. This time round, while it has retained the front MacPherson struts and rear multi-link, the firm claims to have opted for more performance orientated dampers and quickened up the steering by around 10 percent. Also quicker is the all-new engine added to the lineup: a 138bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol four-pot to replace the outdated Gamma unit and supplement the 1.
