Bushs administration to secure such an authorization failed abysmally, collapsing in a welter of half-truths and outright falsehoods. What much of the international community found unacceptable, more so even than Saddams obstreperousness, was Bushs insistence that he was going to have his war regardless of what others might think. As for celebrating the defeat of the Taliban and of Saddam, thats the equivalent of declaring game over when the whistle sounds ending the first quarter of a football game. Setbacks, disappointments, miscalculations, humiliations: you wont hear about them from CENTCOM. More to the point, to claim that, in the years since, CENTCOM has continued to provide security to the new freely-elected governments of Afghanistan and Iraq whitewashes history in ways that would cause the most shameless purveyor of alt-facts on Fox News to blush.

Yes, he can. A few gremlins in the works this afternoon. How is it that some forces despite budgetary restraints can get it so right and others fail abysmally? There is no doubt it is down to management to an extent.

By Amit Kapoor Finance Minister Arun Jaitley put the spotlight on the issue of tax evasion in his February 1 budget speech with some eye-opening statistics. Out of an employed population of approximately 300 million, merely 37 million filed their income tax returns in 2015-16. Even if exempted sectors like agriculture are accounted for, this proportion is abysmally low. The most damning evidence of evasion was the fact that out of 7.6 million individuals who declare incomes above Rs 5 lakh, 5.6 million are in the salaried class, for whom the taxes are deducted at source. Clearly, it cannot be the case that India has only two million businessmen and self-employed people who earn incomes above Rs 5 lakh. Tax evasion is rampant in the country and is especially high among the non-salaried class. The facts in the Budget underline the unjust nature of the imposition of income tax in the country.

And nations around the world may be alarmed that the United States will no longer spend truckloads of money attempting to solve their problems--but usually abysmally failing--by using counterproductive military intervention or feckless foreign aid. Trump's inaugural address demonstrated that shaking things up was not just campaign rhetoric. Doing so in America's failed security policy is long overdue. -- This feed and its contents are the property of The Huffington Post, and use is subject to our terms. The Labour Party have done abysmally in, how much of the concern is that? The Labour Party faces some of the electoral tests this year.

It is a living and breathing platform that enables immediate payments. And it was a wake-up call for banks to get their technology act together. Bharat Interface for Money (or BHIM) is another of UPI’s progeny and applications. The buzz in the tech sphere is that it is the shape of things to come — read, technology and micro-lending. If BHIM has had something other apps dont, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s voluntary endorsement. This counts for a lot in a land where banking access is abysmally low and faith in technology stillborn for more than 500 million people. Unsurprisingly, Modi’s endorsement helped BHIM achieve the same number of downloads in 10 days that a slicker PhonePe app clocked in five months. But here’s the thing: PhonePe is a standalone business and business enabler for parent company Flipkart. Paytm is a red-blooded digital wallet business.

Looking after the way the soldiers are treated. We heard about Rachel Webster, she was treated abysmally. It is up to the government to try and stop that from happening. It is incumbent on us that our happening. It is incumbent on us which are causing the problems? I think that's right.

GDP growth has sat however at under 3 percent per year, an anemic level not seen since Herbert Hoover's presidency. The real unemployment rate including part time workers and those marginally attached to the work force is 9.5% according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a figure that omits those who have given up searching for work and college graduates severely underemployed. Besides jobs increases, Obama's major economic accomplishments are conservative - keeping inflation in check and cutting the federal deficit by two-thirds while expanding exports. Obama's labor policy promoted small improvements for workers that wouldn't offend his Wall Street backers too much. Obama pushed unsuccessfully for a raise in the abysmally low $7.25 per hour minimum wage and promoted laws mandating better safety conditions and wages for private companies working for the government and to expand overtime pay (which was blocked by a federal judge in Texas).

S. Constitution has been based not on principle, but on partisan election outcomes. Over 700 aborted attempts over the last 200 years to undermine our federal system have failed abysmally once the disastrous consequences have been fully explained and appreciated. Perhaps the most notorious myth is that the Founding Fathers envisioned electors as independent representatives free to cast their votes in any way they wish. Nothing could be further from the truth. As Madison explained to the Virginia ratifying convention, the president was to be chosen by "the people at large", and later explained to the First Congress that the president was to be appointed "by the suffrages of three million people". As Lucius Wilmerding's massive study of the Electoral College noted in 1958 , "it is the fashion nowadays (to assert that electors were to make the election according to their own will).

Indeed, that he's decided there'll be no more pussy-footing and to go for broke indicates he will be sticking around. He is fortunate that his two predecessors failed so abysmally that the club, the brand, the multi-national business or whatever you want to call it, cannot risk a third sacking in four years since Fergie retired. That would cause a sell-off on Wall Street so if it comes to a choice between him and the players, it is the players who will go. He is trying to provoke the current squad to get more out of them and those that don't raise their game will be sold off. He now knows that four summer recruits was nowhere near enough to boost the quality and prefers to work with a small number so he must remove the chaff. While he does this, there are bound to be problems and below-par performances, and he's probably already set his sights lower than the title this season.

"It has been my desire for many years to be involved in a great project in Mumbai, and it is my honour to bring the Trump lifestyles to the citizens of this truly global metropolis with the launch of Trump Tower Mumbai. We are thrilled to be working with the Lodha Group, a truly fantastic team of professionals," Trump, chairman and president of The Trump Organization had said on August 12, 2014. That time the now-president-elect had told PTI that the realty prices in Mumbai are abysmally low yet he was very bullish on the country and was keen to pump in more money into the luxury residential and hospitality spaces. "The Mumbai luxury realty market is the cheapest in the world". For ages Mumbai has been the hottest reality market in the country as well as one the costliest across the world. "I will invest a substantial amount in the Trump Tower Mumbai, in my individual capacity," Trump had told PTI without quantifying the amount to be invested.

But, in doing so, it is well to consider a few other things. A record of service to the underprivileged well before Clinton rose to prominence. Her deep preparation for the presidency. The skill, stamina and knowledge she displayed in debate. Her steadiness under pressure. Her ability to surmount adversity. Her record of bipartisan cooperation as a senator. And, unlike Trump, a general disinclination to complain about criticism. All that adds up to the inner resources and emotional balance one would want in a president. And Trump? Abysmally ignorant. Chronically narcissistic. Emotionally unbalanced. Temperamentally unstable. Indifferent to our political traditions and institutions. To his core, morally repellent. Any sane consideration recitation of his disabilities places this election in a category all its own. This is not a choice between philosophies or parties.

Still, BMW is very eager to ramp up volume by 2020 to 200,000 units per annum. This new model will play a role in achieving that goal. Based upon the cost-consciously developed G 310 R , which is manufactured in India by TVS, the new G 310 GS will make use of the same 313cc, single cylinder engine. As far as performance figures are concerned, expect the GS' engine to be tuned to reflect its intended functionality both on and off-road. In other words, expect it to be a bit slower and a bit torquier, unless BMW leaves the engine unmodified from its current state. BMW Motorrad's future growth plan places particular emphasis on the significance that the U.S. market is expected to play, hoping that the firm's market share will double here. However, small displacement motorcycles, below 500cc, whether premium or not, sell abysmally here in the States.

" Clinton mostly had a pretty disdainful look for Trump the entire time (although she did break into laughter a few times). It's understandable -- if I was Hillary Clinton, I'd certainly be thinking: "How did this buffoon get on the stage with me?" if I had to stand next to Donald Trump for 90 minutes. Trump had one strange affectation -- the loud sniffs that happened on a pretty regular basis, at least during the first half of the debate. This has led to much gleeful speculation (and the rejoicing of the late-night comics) about what exactly Donald Trump had been doing with his nose right before he appeared on stage. Tune in later tonight for the inevitable "doing lines?" jokes, that's for sure. Kidding aside, though, while I'm not in the habit of saying "who won" debates, here are my reactions of how each candidate met the expectations set for them: Overall, Trump mostly cleared the abysmally-low bar his team had set for him.

8 points." Voter purges and irregularities such as the elimination of 125,000 votes in Brooklyn, New York's Democratic primary also disproportionately affected Latino voters and eroded trust more generally in the entire electoral process. Systemic challenges prevent the type of massive voter turnout we should strive for as a democratic society, but our abysmally low rates of voter engagement are due to more than governmental failings. The level of disengagement we see each election cycle is uniquely striking considering that it exists in the midst of America's world-renowned, 24/7 media barrage. We may be galvanizing viewers to turn on the TV or livestream the reality show, but when it comes to taking action, how many will show up? Stanford University behavioral scientists could give a few tips to anyone campaigning to motivate voting. It turns out that saturating people with election news, phone calls, and ads does not constitute effective election marketing.
