It's long overdue and it is very much welcome. It sends a strong message from this House that equality is a key aspect of Britain's modern society and key aspect of our industrial bus. -- practice. It repealed some erroneous provisions in a previous act and anyone investigating the log, looking through Hansard, the statute book, would avoid confusion, making sure no one misinterprets those provisions as being any way representative of the modern diverse society that Britain is today of the modern, diverse profession that the Merchant Navy is today.

Any artificial barriers to employment that may be construed from the 1994 Act are simply very unhelpful indeed. I believe that laws should be clear and precise, so even though we are not faced with an enormous practical problem, in terms of vast numbers, it is necessary to look at the statute book to avoid confusion.

Thus far, charters have been able to avoid compliance with the IDEA, which is the Individual Disability Education Act; that’s special education for children with handicaps. Many charters dont take children with severe disabilities because they say they dont have the staff or facilities to deal with it but under federal law, that’s just an excuse. You can’t get away with that. Many charters have excluded kids who are English Language Learners because they dont have the staff for that. So I think that if Devos gets in and she capitulates as many in the Congress believes she must, to imposing federal mandates, then the charters will be just as regulated as the public schools. Jeff Schechtman: What also was troubling in her hearing was the fact that she didnt even seem to have an understanding of what IDEA was. Diane Ravitch: No, she did not know and she got confused.

The good news is you can easily hide them away in a box, in a cupboard or at the bottom of the ocean. The bad news is PhotoScan by Google brings them into the digital world, where theyll never be more than a click away - so please think about your future self when digitizing your images. Follow some simple instructions, which basically involve moving your phone over an image, so the camera lens can clearly see all the different parts of it, and it will be immortalized in digital form and ready for sharing on social media. PhotoScan has some clever tricks up its sleeve too, allowing it to enhance images, avoid glare, and crop and straighten shots, so that the finished product really is like a digital photo, rather than just a snapshot of a snapshot. Its all very quick and easy, which sadly means theres no forgetting those baggy jeans and nineties haircuts if youre hell-bent on documenting your entire drawer of old photos.

If you care about M. Night Shyamalan's movies and hope to avoid having his latest film spoiled for you—and its twist will be spoiled for you on Twitter or Facebook or somewhere else; it's too good not to share—then you have to see Split on its opening weekend. In fact, you should leave work or home or wherever you are and hit up a multiplex now. But I realize that's a big ask. After all, who cares about M. Night Shyamalan movies anymore? It's hard to think of a director who burned so brightly before spectacularly flaming out. Shyamalan burst onto the scene in 1999 with The Sixth Sense , a worldwide box office smash and that rare horror film to be nominated for a best picture statue at the Oscars. What made The Sixth Sense so memorable was its surprise ending, of course. But, if you go back and watch it again, the film endures because it's beautifully put together and has a solid emotional core.

No two Rolls-Royces are exactly alike, and here’s some of the most interesting cars that the company’s Bespoke division created in 2016 2017-01-20 08:00 The super-rich of the world know that the way to display true wealth in your choice of vehicle is to drive something that nobody else has got. Like turning up at a celebrity party wearing the same dress as another guest, driving the same car as a fellow motorist is a fashion faux pas that the world’s millionaires and billionaires can afford to avoid by speccing their own extravagantly individual vehicles. And nobody does bespoke like Rolls-Royce . The company has been serving up a blank canvas to the great and good (and rich) of the world since the very early days of motoring, when Rolls-Royce provided just the chassis and running gear. From there, customers chose an independent coachbuilder and were able to intricately tweak the design of their new car to their own specification.

A surge in piracy to the west of the Philippines is forcing shipowners to divert vessels through other waters, adding to their costs and the time it takes to transport goods such as Australian iron ore to key Asian destinations. There have been 16 attacks since last March on ships in the Sulu and Celebes seas, through which about $40 billion worth of cargo passes each year, according to the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP). That government-backed anti-piracy organization says over a dozen crewmembers being held hostage by Filipino Abu Sayyaf militants, all from ships sailing through the Sulu and Celebes seas.
