The era of clunky, chunky fitness-tracking bands isnt quite behind us, but a new crop of trackers prove you dont have to pick between health and good looks. Withings marries the two in its $180 Steel HR band, which combines the look of a classic analog timepiece with a heart rate sensor for accurate fitness-tracking without sacrificing style. The Steel HR is the next generation of the Activité Steel, which I reviewed more than a year ago and loved. The Steel HR doesnt look much different at a glance, but dont be fooled: This is an entirely new experience. Under its new parent company Nokia, Withings hasnt departed from its classic design sensibility, which takes a cue from Swiss timepieces. But the new Steel HR puts a small digital screen right on its face and a heart rate sensor inside, which makes it a smarter watch and a better fitness tracker. It’s the best of both worlds. Most VPN companies downplay torrents. Some don't support them at all. BTGuard is very different, though, proudly heading its website with its offer of Anonymous BitTorrent Services. BTGuard's website offers very few details on its VPN service, maybe because there's not much to talk about. There are no clients to check out, for instance, and only three locations to choose from: Canada, Singapore and the Netherlands. Browsing the website doesn't give us the feeling this will change any time soon. As we write, the demo videos were posted six years ago. VPN-related support documents are all dated January 30, 2013. The last post on the support site's news page was made on November 12, 2013. There's little sign of activity or life. Want to try BTGuard? Check out the website here The pricing isn't very enticing, either, with single-month subscriptions costing a chunky 8.

Perhaps best known for its site unblocking SmartDNS service, UK-based OverPlay also offers a premium SmartDNS+VPN package for a chunky $9.95 (8, AU$13.20) a month, falling to an equivalent of $8.33 ($6.70, AU$11.02) if you pay for a year up-front. That's a higher price than most of the competition, but you're getting plenty for your money. There are 400+ servers in 40+ countries around the world, capable Windows and Mac clients, PPTP, L2TP and OpenVPN support for excellent security, and you're able to connect up to three devices to the service at the same time. Want to try OverPlay? Check out the website here If you're interested in site unblocking then you could try OverPlay's bundled SmartDNS system to see if it works for you. Essentially this involves applying new DNS settings to your device, then using a web console to set a custom location for every supported site (Netflix, Amazon Instant, Disney Channel, Hulu, Now TV, Zattoo and more.

It never becomes a slog though tracks are shortish and ideal for quick play; and for free, you can unlock plenty of them, but loads more are available via in-app purchase. So crazy it has an exclamation mark in its name, Crazy Truck! is essentially a reverse Flappy Bird. Your blocky vehicle bounces around like a hyperactive hybrid of a 4x4 and a flea, abruptly returning to terra firma when you hold the screen. This sounds simple enough, yet the controls are oddly disorienting, not least when your chunky vehicle's tasked with avoiding waves of deadly bombs and rockets that litter the screen.. which is at pretty much every moment. Games are therefore very short; and, frankly, we shouldn't encourage this kind of iPad game, given that there are so many of them. But Crazy Truck! is colorful if frequently frustrating fun, and neatly has you tackle the same 'course' until you beat a virtual opponent.

After blending, the Philips presented a reasonable kale smoothie. There were still some chunks of kale leaf – it certainly wasnt up there with the best kale smoothies – but it was still perfectly pleasant. The second smoothie test was less successful. This contains a cored apple cut into eight pieces with the skin left on, an orange split into eight segments and a sliced banana, along with four ice cubes and topped up with orange juice to the 600ml mark. This smoothie was far too chunky, and after a 30-second blend there were still some stringy bits of apple skin in there, which rather spoiled things. Even after another 30 seconds of blending the smoothie was still rather too bitty. Clearly, if you want good results from the Philips, you’ll need to take care about how finely you chop your ingredients to begin with. Image 4 of 13 Image 4 of 13 Still, the march of progress brings along this second-generation car, which finally adopts the UKL2 platform found underneath cars like the Clubman estate and BMW X1 . The new architecture means the Countryman is 200mm longer and 30mm wider than the old one – making it larger than a Mazda CX-3 and significantly bigger than a Nissan Juke . • Best crossovers on sale The extra girth is immediately apparent from the outside, as is MINI’s efforts to create a more rugged SUV look with squared off haunches, a long bonnet and chunky surfaces. You can decide for yourself whether the changes are a success – but to our eyes, it looks more awkward than the outgoing car, particularly the bulbous rear-end with its longer overhang. At least MINI doesnt charge extra for roof rails, which the designers claim are necessary to resolve the styling.

Like the Hotodeal wristband, this strap from HopCentury also comes in a wide range of colors and looks, but the strap design is more conventional. It’s affordable, fits a large range of wrist sizes and adds some color to your Fitbit Flex. It’s more rigid than Fitbit’s official bands and a bit chunky, but if you want a cheap, eye-catching strap, this is it. The Fitbit Flex is designed to be worn on your wrist, but there are times when that’s not ideal. If you have a pushchair for example, your arms wont be moving while walking, which can lead to less accurate tracking. Strapping the Flex to your ankle can solve that, and that’s exactly what this band lets you do. Having it on your ankle also allows for a more accurate estimate of your movement while cycling, and you can save that wrist space for a normal watch. Most Fitbit Flex bands are as sporty as the tracker itself, but not this Holaca leather band.

A white chest of drawers doesn't draw too much attention, allowing the room to retain it's simplicity and gives the homeowner more storage space. By attaching a light wooden sliding door to the wardrobe saves space and prevents the white from becoming overpowering without detracting attention from the view. A wooden board painted blue with adjustable wooden pegs is a fun way to not only add color to room but to also store personal items and make them part of the decor. Personal items used in place of chunky ornaments for decoration uses up less space. The custom white tubing extends to this area to create more wardrobe space, combined with the vintage lamps continues the industrial vintage theme. Simplicity in the bed area draws the eye to the window, which is the focal point of the room and unites the bed area with the rest of the loft. To conserve space, the designers worked with the angles provided by thee original walls.

So we should not worry too much? We might want to worry, but they should not worry too much. How do you figure that? That is a bit complacent, to be honest, on many levels. The UK is relatively small economic league, but it is quite chunky.

It comes with an eye-watering price, but is loaded up to the gills with extra features that justify the expense. The main body is a long, chunky rubberised grip that contains a 6,700mAh rechargeable battery and two USB ports which you can use to charge your smartphone and assorted gadgetry. The door to the USB ports is fully waterproof, whilst PolarPro claim that the in-built battery will power a GoPro for 12 hours filming or six full battery charges. Flexibility is a high point: the extension pole folds in two and screws together to produce a full extension of 84cm, a shorter one of 56cm, or you can just use the handle on its own as a camera grip. As a nice extra, the pole also can also bend to a 90 degree angle, which means it’s easier to get your arm out of the photo. The only gripe is that it’s a bit of a pain to put together. Aimed at PC and console gamers, using Turtle Beach's Elite Pro feels like sitting down at a command station and gearing up for war. This headset oozes gaming appeal, right down to the subtle orange ruler-type markings on the headset's automatically adjusting headband. It's a funky piece of kit that's reassuringly chunky while remaining supremely comfortable at all times thanks to its gel-infused Aerofit ear cushions. Most importantly, they sound great in the heat of battle. That's down to Turtle Beach's 50mm NanoClear drivers, which do an especially great job of bringing you into the heart of the action in shooters. If you're particularly hardcore, you might want to shell out for the Tactical Audio Controller. At $199 (around £149) it's not cheap, but it grants an intuitive and fun of adjusting settings such as the game/chat mix, your own microphone level, in-game sounds, and there's also a mute button to cut game sound out completely.

Image 4 of 16 Image 4 of 16 As such, you can opt for a familiar range of turbo petrol and diesel engines with the DS 3 Performance Line, kicking off with the 1.2-litre Puretech 110 manual. We’ve got the fastest choice in the range, which is the more powerful petrol with 128bhp. • Best superminis Externally, there’s not a lot to mark out the Performance Line trim. DS makes lots of noise about its success in the Formula E World Championship – and how that inspires its road-going models – but there’s little evidence of that here. What you do get is a fresh colour palette with a choice of seven hues, plus contrasting black roof, alloy wheels and mirrors. Some new DS Performance logos, finished in red, white and gold, are found all over the body and in the centre of the alloy wheels. There are no physical bodywork changes to the DS 3, though, with Performance touches like the lowered suspension, bigger wheels and chunky side skirts notable by their absence.

Unlike its metal-wrapped brethren, the Romoss Solo 5 is clad in plastic, which is still prone to scratches. The twin USB ports are conveniently located on one end (great for charging while its in a bag), but the micro USB input is on the side. As you might expect, there's some IAP whiffing the place up, but you can play through for nothing if you're willing to persevere and grind a bit; and with courses as great looking as the ones found in this game, re-racing them isn't exactly a hardship. We're big fans of Crossy Road, which is both a lesson in how to update a classic arcade game (Frogger), and create a free-to-play business model that isn't hateful. (In short, throw free coins at players, don't make anything pay to win, and add loads of tempting but entirely optional characters to buy.) With Disney Crossy Road , anything could have happened, but this is far from a cheap cash-in. Sure, it starts off very much like Crossy Road - just starring Mickey Mouse. But unlock a few characters (you'll have at least three within ten minutes) and you suddenly find yourself immersed in chunky takes on famous movies, such as Toy Story, Wreck-It Ralph, and The Lion King.

The premise is that you're a wizard, fending off invading nasties who all oddly use balloons to parachute towards their prize. Match the symbol on any balloon and it pops, potentially causing a hapless intruder to meet the ground rather more rapidly than intended. Initially, this is all very simple, but when dozens of balloons fill your field of vision, you'll be scrawling like crazy, desperately fending off the invasion to keep the wizard gainfully employed. The first thing that strikes you about Into the Dim is that it transforms your iPad into a giant Game Boy - at least from a visual standpoint. Its chunky yellowed graphics hark back to handheld gaming's past; but to some extent, this is also true of Into the Dim's mechanics. It's a turn-based RPG, featuring a boy and his dog exploring dungeons, outwitting enemies, and uncovering a mystery.

Its chunky yellowed graphics hark back to handheld gaming's past; but to some extent, this is also true of Into the Dim's mechanics. It's a turn-based RPG, featuring a boy and his dog exploring dungeons, outwitting enemies, and uncovering a mystery. But whereas most modern mobile fare offers procedurally generated levels, Into the Dim's dungeons have all been carefully individually designed. It rewards planning, strategic thinking, and patience; and although the game's finite nature means it can be beaten, doing so will make you feel like a boss, rather than a player being put through the 'random mill' time and time again. Taking the most famous video game character of all and shoving him into an endless freemium title could have ended disastrously. Fortunately, Pac-Man 256 is by the people behind Crossy Road - and it's just as compelling. In Pac-Man 256, our rotund hero finds himself beyond the infamous level 256 glitch, which has become an all-consuming swarm of broken code that must be outrun.
