PETALING JAYA: Low cost carrier AirAsia Bhd has warned the public against a social media post which claims to offer free flight tickets through an online survey. In a statement today, the public-listed entity said the scam directs people to a link www.airasia.com-2017-givea.us and requires participants to answer questions in order to redeem the vouchers. "Additionally, there is also another scam circulating on Facebook, offering 268 free AirAsia tickets in conjunction with AirAsia's 28th anniversary. We would like to confirm that both of the social media posts are scams, which uses the AirAsia brand without authorisation, to lure the public to participate in its scheme," the company added. Advising the public to disregard such scams, the airline further stated that it will not be held liable for any claims pertaining to the false scheme and will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups that organise illegal schemes using the AirAsia brand.

PUTRAJAYA: Four editors of The Star appeared at the Home Ministry (KDN) today, believed to explain about its front page on May 27, which is deemed insensitive to the feelings of Muslims in this country. They were the newspaper’s specialist editor M. Shanmugam and three executive editors, Brian Martin, Dorairaj Nadason and Rozaid Abdul Rahman. The four arrived at 10.50am and left the ministry building about one hour later. However, media members who waited to get their comments were disappointed as the four left through another door. Yesterday, KDN secretary-general Datuk Seri Alwi Ibrahim said the ministry would summon the Star’s editor to explain the front page headline and the accompanying photograph on Saturday. Alwi said KDN was disappointed with The Star over a photograph of Muslims performing tarawih prayers on the first night of Ramadan under the bold headline, 'Malaysian Terrorist Leader'.

PETALING JAYA: ML Global Bhd, which expects to double its orderbook to RM2 billion, is planning to set up a plant to manufacture pre-cast panels. We hope to see the first wall (using pre-cast concrete) up next year," he told reporters at ML Global's AGM today.
