Former US President Barack Obama is speaking out on automation and driverless cars and the impact the futuristic tech thats much closer to reality than it once was could have on the economy. Obama, writing in The Guardian , discusses a number of issues related to climate change, including food security and the changing workforce. He shares a concern that with technology comes increased automation; it happened in manufacturing, and now its taking place across the service and managerial sectors. As people lose jobs to machines, workers dont just lose out on income, but a lack of meaning and purpose that can be damaging to themselves and society. He calls driverless cars the best example of the kinds of issues that were going to face. Driverless cars are coming, Obama writes.

(AP Photo) Saudi Arabia on Wednesday defended the actions of Bahraini authorities who opened fire on a protest by supporters of a top Shiite cleric, killing five people. The security of Bahrain “is an integral part” of Saudi security, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a source in the Kingdom’s Foreign Ministry as saying. “The source affirmed the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the measures being taken,” including in Diraz village near the capital Manama, it said. These measures are to “address all terrorist attempts aimed at destabilizing and damagingsecurity and order, it added. Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said in a Twitter message: “Five deaths have been registered among the outlaws” in Diraz, near the capital of Manama, where the police opened fire to disperse the sit-in outside the home of cleric Isa Qassim.

They continue to be very, very damaging leaks, and I find them appalling and they need to be tracked down,” Brennan stated. “John Brennan was one of the two or three driving forces behind the Obama administration’s war on whistleblowers,” former CIA officer John Kiriakou said. “Donald Trump has already said that he wants to see Ed Snowden exposed to the death penalty when he comes back. Trump has said that leakers are scum, and he includes whistleblowers among them.” “While this one report may have been leaked illegally, there is a bigger picture here, and that is the continuation under the Trump administration of the Obama administration’s war on whistleblowers.” Kiriakou is a whistleblower, who confirmed President George W. Bush’s administration had a policy of waterboarding detainees. He became a target of prosecution, pled guilty to confirming the name of an undercover intelligence agent, and served a sentence in prison.

At a press conference before she heads home, Theresa May will be asked what she makes of the narrowing of her lead suggested by The Times' YouGov poll today. Mrs May will hope it will energise her support base and sharpen what had seemed a blunt campaign message about the possibility of a Labour government. Here are a couple of possible explanations for what is going on: from Vox and Kantar . I've yet to hear a Labour MP reporting back the surge detected in the opinion polls, but clearly Theresa May stirred a reaction with her care policy and her own polling reported it as sufficiently worrying to risk a damaging u-turn on Monday which runs counter to her whole campaign narrative. Whatever Mrs May says or doesn't say about Mr Corbyn's speech today linking British military involvements abroad and terrorism at home, the the truth is that Mrs May watched the Libyan military involvement led by David Cameron and President Sarkozy with her head in her hands according to one who knows her well.

seems to be what is happened at the moment and some small corner of an agency. They are damaging or potentially damaging the relationship with a very important partner and therefore their own interests. So, this basically has got to stop. President Trump wanted to stop. They need to find out who's doing it. And I.

One wonders how damaging it is. We have seen what is happening as far as the Russia investigation is concerned. And President Trump's views on that and the fact that the former leader, the chairperson of the FBI, Mr Comey, has gone. Up until now, it did.

The hope of Mr Corbyn is that voters, while not in any way minimising the horror of Manchester, will think, yes, we do have to have this debate about what is causing this radicalisation, what is the reason for the terror threat we face. But it is an almighty risk for Mr Corbyn, the danger that he simply gets more damaging headlines

Unfortunately, such incidents keep occurring and the perpetrators continue to claim that they are simply mistakes. The tragedies, such as the bombing of the Médecins Sans Frontières hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan in October 2015, declared as mistake and ended without any military personnel involved being convicted. Only in 2016, the Palestinian Red Crescent society has reported 416 instances of violence or interference with its ambulances by Israeli Forces or settlers, injuring 162 emergency workers, damaging 108 ambulances and denying access to healthcare in 146 cases. This is on top of the illegal blockade against the Palestinians that has continued for more than a decade, denying them their basic human rights, including access to healthcare, by the Israeli regime, all unabated. The Saudi led aggression in Yemen since March 2015, has led to many well documented war crimes, including the destruction of much civilian infrastructure, including medical facilities and this aggression continues unabated under the watch of this Council.

This is why we will indeed make our contribution to security and solidarity in the common alliance," she said. Trump's rebuke came despite Nato saying it would formally join the US-led coalition against IS at the summit, despite reservations in France and Germany about getting involved in another conflict. Article 5 has been invoked only once in Nato's six-decade history – after the Sept 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington. Analyst Thomas Wright of the Washington-based Brookings Institution said Trump's failure to publicly declare this was "shocking and damaging". Brussels presented Trump with the first problems of a landmark foreign trip, including tense moments with the head of the European Union and with key ally Britain. Trump announced a review of "deeply troubling" US intelligence leaks over the Manchester bombing, in which 22 people died, and warned that those responsible could face prosecution, the White House said.

(He is originally from New Jersey.) And Quist’s big, late fundraising helped him go on offense with more blistering TV ads. But while small-dollar donors have invested heavily in Quist’s underdog campaign, Democratic groups were more wary about the race — a point of contention with activists who want to see the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee investing more money in more campaigns in red states and districts. The party has been much more involved in another special House election in Georgia, where Democrat Jon Ossoff is locked in a tight race with Republican Karen Handel for a longtime GOP district in the Atlanta suburbs. The DCCC and House Majority PAC, the Democratic super PAC, did put some cash into Montana, but Republicans ultimately spent $7 million on advertising there, versus about $3 million from Democrats. Quist also faced a slew of damaging attacks over his financial, medical and tax history, including a series of ads featuring contractors who said Quist had stiffed them.
