"The motto of the healthcare professions is to first do no harm," says Deb Friedland, who has been a registered nurse for 23 years at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in Queens, New York. "That's why I can't believe that the first priority of the new Congress is to repeal the Affordable Care Act, because it would be devastating to the hard working people in our community, our local economy and our hospital." If Congress pushes forward with destroying the ACA, over 2.7 million New Yorkers would lose their health insurance, the state budget would be slashed by $3.7 billion, and 27 hospitals throughout the state would be in danger of closing. With all the struggles facing working Americans -- stagnant wages, increasing student and consumer debt, lack of job security -- it is staggering that Congress would choose as its first move the repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Chantel is a very lucky lady to have such a fearless man. A wasp killer like no other demonstrated his special skill to a camera in his front yard last week. According to the clip, the Florida man grew up in Trinidad, and has been murdering wasps and destroying their nests using just his bare hands for more than 20 years. Someone should tell him that we really won't judge him for wearing gloves. It's okay, dude. McGoldrick told reporters in Sana’a that the figure is based on lists of victims gathered by health facilities and that the actual number might be higher. UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Jamie McGoldrick gives a press conference in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, January 16, 2017. (Photo by AFP) The Saudi war on Yemen, which local sources say has killed at least 11,400 people, was launched in an unsuccessful attempt to reinstate the former government. The Saudi war has also taken a heavy toll on the country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools and factories. The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) representative in Yemen, Meritxell Relano, said last week that almost 1,400 children had been killed and 2,140 injured as a result of the conflict in Yemen. He added that some 2,000 schools have been destroyed, damaged or used as shelters for displaced families.

Theres reason to wonder. Indonesia, which has Asias largest tract of forest, is destroying its rainforests at one of the fastest rates of any other country in the world. The World Wildlife Fund estimates that well over half of Sumatra islands rainforest has been cut down over the last three decades, to make way for hardwood and palm oil plantations. In 2015, massive man-made forest fires burned down more than 8,000 sq. miles of rainforest, which led President Joko Widodo to respond with a series of forestry reforms, including a moratorium on new permits for palm oil plantations. The only reason Leuser has survived, alone among Sumatras large rainforest ecosystems, is due to civil war. For two decades, separatist Islamist rebels in Aceh hid out in the forest in their fight for independence from the national government, making development of the forest impossible.

With the use of its technologies such as nano-technology, genetic engineering, drugs, robotics and bionics… to ‘enhance’ us, we are in grave danger of losing our heart connectivity and thus getting rendered powerless to do anything about the ruling elite’s control system. Earth and our energetic disconnection Our heart energies extend to an energetic connection with Earth. It’s no coincidence that EARTH is an anagram for HEART. The ruling elite are destroying planet Heart’s energy by polluting the land, air, food and water through geo-engineering, fracking, chemical pollution, radiation, genetic modification… as we blindly partake. The recent protests over the laying down of oil pipeline at Standing Rock, Dakota is a stand for the heart energy: Here we have a situation where on one side there are protesters honouring a piece of land as a God-given sacred living entity, providing fertile soil and fresh waterOn the other side, a number of heartless individuals; bribed politicians representing greed-driven corporations, an over-the-top, intimidating and known to be brutal militarized police force to deal with the peaceful protesters should they impede the land-spoiling pipeline constructionOur awakening In this age of truth and transparency, in our awakening, having chosen the ‘service to others’ pathway, more than ever, we need to demonstrate gratitude, compassion, empathy, generosity, kindness and caring for each other as a way of staying in the heart.

The letter of the foreign ministry read that the aggression comes as part of a series of earlier Israeli aggressions against Syria since the beginning of the crisis in the country. “Such an attack would not have occurred had it not been for the direct support from the outgoing American administration and French and British”, the letter to the international community added. Syria also blamed the “mercenaries” of the Western powers like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and Turkey, saying that the attack aimed at destroying the Syrian independence and government and also domination of the country and the region as a whole. The Syrian foreign ministry maintained that the aggressions are coming after back-to-back blows dealt to the terrorists in north, center, and south of the country. The Syrian army has recently pushed the militants of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly al-Nusra Front) out of eastern Aleppo and disarmed terrorists in Damascus outskirts and other fronts like Khan Al-Sheikh, Quneitra, and Daraa.

We knew Einstein's theory of relativity was always right-- we just never had a clue why. The collision of two black holes warped space-time and left raptures the size of galaxies in its wake. We were able to pick up this explosion in the form of gravitational waves as they whispered into our atmosphere. The beauty of that is truly striking: a collision capable of destroying entire galaxies entered our atmosphere in the form of barely audible whispers. These gravitational waves were the first non-light signals we could pick up from space, meaning we could sequence data from before light even existed. Let's not leave planetary science out of this discussion. In July, Juno finally reached Jupiter and began examining the beautiful mystery of the gas giant. Cassini also bolstered our knowledge of Saturn as it was able to elucidate much of the planet's electrical and chemical identity.

S. exports such as soybeans or Boeing aircraft. A full-out trade war would do enormous damage to the U.S. economy; the Peterson Institute for International Economics has forecast that if Trump imposes high tariffs on Chinese and Mexican imports, the U.S. economy would be thrown into recession, at a cost of some 4 million jobs. The harm would be especially large to the big cities and to farmers selling their goods and services across the world. The vocal minority of losers from trade that Trump has championed would suddenly face a vocal majority of the winners from trade who would find their prosperity under threat. There was a reason that presidents from Roosevelt onward came to embrace freer trade: The United States and other countries had tried the nationalist alternatives in the late 1920s and 30s, and the damage was enormous. Trump may be able to craft a modern version that tilts the trade playing field more in favor of the United States without destroying it entirely. But he is playing a dangerous game.

Delanda est Cathargo ("Carthage must be destroyed") are words that come down to us from ancient history. It is said they were spoken by the famed Roman statesman and orator Cato the Elder at the end of his speeches. They remain relevant today in the case of Trump, Russia and a Washington establishment that is intent on destroying both.
