Keep in mind these frequencies are used to cook flesh. The microwave oven you dropped off at the recovery area of the rubbish tip the other week runs at 2.45 GHz. Turning up the ‘volume’ or microwave power density on the antenna array – in the same way we turn up the volume of our stereo. This is the same ‘invisible stuffemitted by your mobile device and WiFi. In the above example when the antenna tower was at the edge of your back fence (say 100 metres from your bedroom), you’d likely complain, “Not In My Back Yard!” When it is located 300 metres away and out of sight in council bushland there is no way for you to complain as you do not even know about it! Even if it is located on the side of a road you might not consider taking action, such is the distorted form of information passed on to the public (more on this later). Distance is an important consideration per the Inverse Square Law for distance from source (of microwave radiation) – Intensity α 1/distance.

By Benjamin Nowland Imagine you arrive home after work to discover a new microwave antenna tower stationed at the edge of your backyard fence? How would you respond? If you’d had non-existent mobile phone reception for years prior (or if you were a techiehooked on faster downloads’) then you might find reason to celebrate! You might respond as an ambivalent disempowered citizen, “I really wonder about those things but there isnt much I can do about this anyway.” You may be in the growing group of empowered action-takers. You’ve either experienced microwave radiation sickness attributable to exposure or you’ve read books and articles on the topic which resonate with your own truth. Out of Sight Does Not Equal Out of Mind Now forget the antennas in the backyard. Rather, that same day you arrived home from work telcos had erected a microwave antenna tower 300 metres from your residence.

Android has included a built-in file manager since 6.0 Marshmallow called Files, but it hasn't had an app drawer icon. Instead, Android shows a 'Downloads,' app, which is technically just a shortcut to the Downloads folder in Files with some functionality removed. Starting with Android O, the Downloads shortcut has been replaced by the full Files application. Functionality-wise, it's nearly identical to Nougat's internal file manager . Of course, this is just the first Developer Preview, so there's plenty of time for the Android team to continue working on it. This lightweight client manages to pack quite a punch without devouring system resources. Like all good clients, it supports both torrent files and magnet links, and the installer is pleasingly free from unwanted adware or other extras. Despite its close resemblance to uTorrent, qBittorrent doesn't feature any ads, leaving you free to get on with managing torrents without distractions. There are some nice touches like the ability to shut down or hibernate your computer once downloads are complete, the ability to create torrents, and an integrated RSS reader to help you keep up with your favourite sites. There's also a torrent search engine available (if you don't mind installing Python), and all the essential controls (prioritising, pausing etc) can be accessed through either the main toolbar or via tabs on the multi-pane interface. Its shallow learning curve, clean installer, lack of ads, and array of features make qBittorrent the best free alternative to uTorrent.

How would they fare in today's music chart when it is all about downloads? Would they do and Ed Sheeran and have numbers one, two,.

We all know that the current situation is unsustainable, but more importantly we all know that in order to really create a relationship with a customer, you must have full visibility into all the touchpoints with that customer. That’s pretty tricky in a system with dozens of point applications, and with marketing next actions only predicted on previous marketing actions. So, what’s a CMO to do? Well, to quote Winston Churchill: “Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” Our next stage in the third era must involve a fundamental re-orientation from multiple disconnected point solutions to a single, end-to-end Customer Experience Management (CXM) system. This CXM approach must take into account all of the interactions between a customer and the organisation – including customer care experiences; sentiment; behaviours; interests; memberships and subscriptions; industry interactions; and even stock ownership, in addition to all of our usual marketing touchpoints such as website visits; content views and downloads; and event attendance.

Announced at the beginning of February, offline viewing functionality has finally arrived for the Australian streaming service Stan, with the latest version of its iOS and Android app now allowing users to download a huge chunk of the services films and TV shows (Seinfeld included). In the updated app, Stan lets customers choose the quality of their downloads in the 'App Settings' section. Here, you'll find three download quality options: Quick and Dirty gives users quicker downloads with less storage used, Standard provides a balance between quality, download speed and storage space, while Best predictably offers the highest video quality and takes up the most space on your internal storage or SD card. PureVPN's PC client stands out immediately for the sheer volume of connection options and tools it makes available. Its policy on logging is unusually clear: the company records the time you connect to a server and the total bandwidth used, but otherwise there are no logs of the websites you visit, the files you download or anything else. PureVPN did well on our performance tests, where amazingly it managed to improve most of our download speeds. Latency was a mere 5% higher than normal, upload speeds actually increased by 4%, while downloads were a very surprising 80% up on our normal speeds.

Mimo actually has two integrated Usenet search engines, and allows you to queue up multiple downloads, adjusting their priority based on your connection. You can track how downloads are progressing within the browser. Quality support is a priority for Giganews, too. The firm promises a human response within minutes, with tech support around the clock, every day of the week including weekends. Pricing However, youre definitely paying for quality here if you want an unlimited account. The Platinum account costs $19.99 (16.30, AU$26) a month, and you get unlimited access and 20 connections. If you want something more powerful, you can opt for the Diamond plan, which has 50 connections available. Thatd normally set you back $29.99 (23, AU$38) a month, but its currently available at an introductory offer of $14.

This outfit is a popular European provider based in the Netherlands, offering a range of Usenet services that get the job done and remain affordable at the same time. However, its servers are located in the Netherlands, meaning that if you arent living in Europe, you may find performance is slower than other providers with a better global reach. XS News describes itself as a Usenet access platform, providing you with the tools to fire up downloads without any speed or data limits (depending on the exact plan you pick, of course). It also places a major emphasis on simplicity and customer satisfaction, with online tech support forums being offered in both Dutch and English. You can sign up for XS News here With this platform, you get a binary retention rate of 1,100 days, which is substantially lower than other providers.

Those enjoying playing with their PS3 consoles shouldn't panic the end of production doesn't mean your PlayStation will suddenly cease to work. However, it does start a countdown clock of sorts when it comes to support for the machine with production lines switching off, Sony will inevitably be winding down updates for the PS3, which may eventually have ramifications for online services and digital downloads. As for picking up a new PS3, that'll become increasingly difficult, potentially putting a premium price on second-hand PlayStation 3 consoles. Time to make the jump to PS4? Here's this month's cheapest PS4 deals

But how would this help your app gain visibility and drive more downloads? If your app is indexed by Google, then someone using the Google Now on Tap feature in a certain app could see a suggestion to install yours as well if it is relevant to the search. These amazing new features by Google could stand to power even more installs for apps and make their discoverability far easier than was otherwise possible. One way to optimize and take advantage of this feature would be by revamping current apps. For a new app, you would need to optimize it for Google when it is in the development stage and incorporate this step as a milestone in the app’s lifecycle stages to stand the most chance of benefiting from it. Every marketer who is in the business of promoting apps needs to understand and incorporate this strategy into the app’s marketing mix to increase the app’s chances of becoming a success story.

With the Creators Update , Microsoft has been making some welcome changes in terms of giving users greater control over aspects of Windows 10, such as more upfront privacy settings . But when it comes to options for dealing with mandatory updates on a metered connection, the company appears to have taken a step backwards in the latest preview build of the OS. You may be familiar with the option to postpone automatic downloads of Windows updates when youre on a metered connection, because obviously, if youre using your tablet or laptop with a 4G connection for example, chunky updates could get you in serious hot water regarding your data allowance. But, as spotted by SuperSite Windows , in the latest preview build of Windows 10 (version 15058) the text describing update settings under Windows Update has changed. Previously it read: Available updates will be downloaded and installed automatically, except over metered connections (where charges may apply).
