This charming cottage is in the countryside, but it's not as far-flung as you might think. Located in the borough of New Hope, Pennsylvania, it's about an hour's drive from Philly and an hour and a half from New York City. This home is small — just under 1,300 square feet — but it's brimming with charming details (exposed beams! fireplaces!) and thoughtful updates. READ MORE »

1040, 1.1000 and 1.0933. - We then moved over to Cable which does look more attractive for USD-weakness at the moment. Bad news has been continually shrugged off in the Cable, and this is often indicative of an underlying sentiment shift as traders and investors use those dips after bad news to buy more or take on bullish exposure. The continued bullish price action north of the prior swing high at 1.2750 adds further interest to the continued development of the bullish theme in Cable. - We then moved over to AUD/USD. Aussie caught a strong reversal off of a key level of .7500. This is a major psychological level that’s very nearby the mid-point of the year-long range that’s showed in the pair. This could be an attractive setup for USD-strength. - On the polar opposite is the recent bullish move seen in NZD/USD. The Kiwi finally found support and buyers were able to re-drive above the .

Just the other day we showed you a drag race between a BMW M2 and an Audi RS3 and the discussions and debates it started were definitely not anticipated by us. Some points were made that the RS3, being available only in hatch or sedan guise, isnt a real rival for the M2 and that the Audi TT would be more of a match since it is also described as a ‘Coupe’. Well, today we found a video of the same manual BMW M2 drag racing on the same strip, this time against an Audi TT S . However, unlike last time, this race wouldnt be considered fair either because we’re not dealing with an RS model here but with a lesser, S version of the stylish Audi model. What that means is that under its hood hides only a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged mill making 310 PS and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. Those figures coupled with the all-wheel drive system sending power to all four corners of the car means that you can reach 62 mph from standstill in 4.

We know about the problems with the gig economy: workers who drive for Uber, deliver food for Postmates, and run errands on TaskRabbit don't have health insurance or any other guarantees or benefits from their employers and their ranks are only growing. While the growth of gig jobs has gotten lots of attention from major companies , research firms , and startups, national legislators haven't done much about it. (They've had other stuff going on, I guess.) Democratic Sens. Mark Warner and Suzan DelBene, of Virginia and Washington respectively, are looking to change that. On Thursday they introduced the first federal bill addressing the gig economy. Read more... More about Uber , Lyft , Senate , Postmates , and Legislation

As the national leaders of the political parties involved in the race to 10 Downing Street gear up to start campaigning again on Friday, UKIP chose a day earlier to launch its General Election manifesto. UKIP leader Paul Nuttall took the opportunity to drive home his message about radical Islamism and placed extremism at the heart of the message to voters. Locally, there have been reports of campaigners starting up again to drop leaflets through letterboxes, even if they are not actually...

would drive elements of the Muslim community into the corner, it did not. Some of the most extreme manifestations of extremism have been damped down. They are now coming back and that is why we have to keep ahead of the game and that is why these measures in the manifesto, the Conservative manifesto, are particularly useful. If the parties consulted you for advice on this, what would you have told them?.

WHETHER or not their bid to reform health care succeeds, Republicans think Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act will founder. For years, critics of the law have said that its health-insurance markets will enter a “death spiral” in which rising premiums drive out healthy buyers, forcing premiums higher still. “Obamacare is absolutely deadPresident Donald Trump told The Economist on May 4th. If he is right, calamity looms. Eighteen million Americans buy insurance for themselves, rather than through an employer; it is this part of the insurance market that looks wobbly. Mr Trump thinks its collapse would force Democrats to join his reform effort. And he is putting his money where his mouth is. Indeed, his administration is part of the problem. Insurers raised premiums in the individual market by an average of 22% in 2017. They had been caught out by the poor health of enrollees on Obamacare’s “exchanges”, websites that serve a little over... Continue reading

The only way you could proceed was to develop a totally new power system, Rodney Allam, the chemical engineer in the trio, told Science . Image credit: NET Power The prototype plant they developed utilizes a new thermodynamic cycledubbed the Allam cycle — that eliminates the need for smokestacks altogether. [T]he Allam Cycle uses a high-pressure, highly recuperative, oxyfuel, supercritical CO2 cycle that makes carbon capture part of the core power generation process, rather than an afterthought, according to the startup's website . Essentially, CO2 replaces the steam used to drive turbines in traditional plants, keeping it working in the plant instead of releasing it out into the air, while also eliminating the need to expend energy to create steam. The system also meets the challenge of being financially competitive, with the company's founders estimating their plant could match the per kilowatt-hour cost of a state-of-the-art natural gas-fired plant.

A Wisconsin woman shared the incredible video of an attempted carjacking that she thwarted earlier this week. Melissa Smith went to put gas in her SUV Tuesday afternoon when the suspects pulled up in apparently a stolen vehicle. One suspect got out of the car and entered the SUV to drive off with it. Smith quickly jumped on her hood and latched onto the windshield wipers. I had this this is not happening to me reaction and ran around, jumped around on my car, grabbed my windshield wipers, and didnt let go, Smith told Fox 6 Now. She added, They laughed at me. The kid in my car laughed at me while I was on my car and tried moving and throwing me off, and I screamed bloody murder, and I didnt get off. The person in the SUV tried to shake Smith loose, but jumped out when she stayed on. The car continued rolling into the street as the suspects drove off.

Give it some aggression, some snarl so that it isn't just another luxo-barge GT. “The BMW Concept 8 Series is our take on a full-blooded high-end driving machine,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design. “It is a luxurious sports car which embodies both unadulterated dynamics and modern luxury like arguably no other. For me, it’s a slice of pure automotive fascination.” It's in profile and from the rear three-quarters that this concept looks best, though, which is ironic because that's also where the original 8 Series looked its best. The overall silhouette is very pretty, with its low and lean look, accentuated by its muscular hips. It's a proper rear-wheel drive GT sports car, at least in terms of style. One interesting design is the change to BMW's now-signature Air-Breather. What's currently a little vent immediately behind the front wheel has now become a massive air vent that actually creates most of the side body creases of the car.
