BENGALURU: States in the US are looking to roll out the red carpet for Indian IT services companies, with Indiana offering as much as $31 million in incentives to Infosys as it looks to drum up jobs in the sector. The state plans to woo more Indian IT companies, which need to boost local hires given the political sensitivity over H-1B visas and immigration under President Donald Trump. The incentives being dangled — mostly in the form of tax abatements and one-time grants — are financed by development funds created by most US states. Indiana is offering Infosys one of the largest incentive packages it has ever handed out, more than covering the company’s cost of setting up its centre. Infosys said it will spend about $8.7 million to lease and equip its office space in the state. Indiana’s incentives are in the form of conditional tax grants and training grants.

His commitments are regarded as shaky and his administration often chaotic. The best Nato members will hope for from this gathering is that the US president doesnt add to uncertainty about his commitment to Nato and that's about where things are expected to end up. President Trump will beat the drum for greater contributions from Nato member countries to their mutual defence effort. This chart show how short some members are of the 2 per cent of GDP defence spending in 2024 target. You see how far short some countries are of the target below (credit: The Economist ). Secretary Tillerson and Secretary Mattis have advised Nato countries to talk up their spending and show there's a route map to getting to the target. The US currently coughs up 68 per cent of Nato's total spending. Of course, for another country to up its spending it needs some consent from the voters and for many of the worst performers on this spending metric, nothing would put them off more than a direct appeal from President Trump.

And if we're being honest, there's something quite cathartic in seeing the little chap through this journey, to the point we imagine quite a few adults will sneakily launch the app for a while when their child's asleep. $39.99/38.99/AU$62.99 Let's immediately get one thing out of the way: Korg Gadget isn't cheap. It's not the sort of app you're going to download for some larks, use for a few minutes, and then casually toss aside. However, if you've any interest in making music whether as a relative newcomer or jobbing musician it is quite simply the best app available for iPhone. Purely as a tool for live performance, Korg's app is first-rate. You get a bunch of miniature synths, referred to as 'gadgets'; they're geared towards electronic music, but still have plenty of range. There are drum machines, a gorgeous bell synth, some ear-smashing bass instruments, and plenty of other options, whether you want to be the Human League for a bit or go all clubby.

MIDI, or M usical I nstrument D igital I nterface, has been the standard for computer control of musical instruments since the 1980s. It is most often associated with electronic instruments such as synthesisers, drum machines, or samplers, but there is nothing to stop it being applied to almost any instrument when combined with the appropriate hardware. [phearl3ss1] pushes this to the limit by adding MIDI to the most unlikely of instruments. A harmonica might seem to be the ultimate in analogue music, yet he's created an ingenious Arduino-powered mechanism to play one under MIDI control . The harmonica itself is mounted on a drawer slide coupled to a wheel taken from a pool sweeper and powered by a motor that can move the instrument from side to side with a potentiometer providing positional feedback to form a simple servo. The air supply comes from a set of three bellows driven via a crank from another motor, and is delivered by what looks like a piece of PVC pipe to the business end of the harmonica.

Liverpool arena Steaming cauldrons and drum riser acrobaticsBruce Dickinson and co’s languid brand of British heavy metal embraces all and shows no signs of rust With ageing rivals from Black Sabbath to AC/DC having finally succumbed to metal fatigue, there are no obvious signs of rust on Iron Maiden. Granted, they are more venerable old men than new wave of British heavy metal , but they are still one of the world’s most popular bands, with a tour schedule that would give much younger men a hernia. This latest trek visits more than 100 cities, and singer Bruce Dickinson is even flying the band between them on their own plane, Ed Force One . At 58, he’s not quite ready for a bus pass, but a brush with cancer seems to have underlined his mortality and rejuvenated the frontman and the band, who perform as if they realise they have some of the best jobs in the world but they wont last forever. It was a direct rebuke to Mashhad's Friday prayer leader -- and Raisi's father-in-law -- Ayatollah Ahmad Allamolhoda who last year banned concerts and told young music-lovers to "Go somewhere else". A video spreading widely on social media even seemed to show a large impromptu rave breaking out in the northeastern city, with huge numbers dancing to techno music. In the Azeri-speaking city of Tabriz in northwest Iran, crowds performed folk dances and local songs at a packed stadium as teenagers waved lighters in the air, while in the southwestern city of Ahvaz, it was the drum-heavy Bandari music that got thousands of revellers dancing. The police were largely powerless to control the exuberance, and despite a few scuffles, no arrests were reported. In Tehran's Vali Asr Square, police tried in vain to disperse the crowds, saying they lacked a permit to gather, only to back down when the numbers became too great, and let the party continue.

Use a light touch and let the speed of the spindle do the hard work for you. Sanding drum The sanding drum spindle consists of a rubber cylinder and a clamp screw. When you tighten the screw, the rubber cylinder is compressed and bulges out to hold the sanding drum. I’ve found these most useful when I need to slightly enlarge a hole. With very careful motion of the sanding drum inside a drilled hole, you can increase the size a little. It’s also useful for cleaning off the rough edges of a hole generated by drilling or using a hole saw. You might also use them for sharpening an edge tool, like an axe. Polishing wheels Many accessory kits come with a threaded spindle and tiny polishing wheels. I havent found much use for these outside of polishing jewelry. You’ll need a metal polishing compound if you want to use this accessory (California Custom Purple is my favorite all-round metal polish).
