Rivne native Artem Muliavko, 18, recently found a job as a chef in one of Kyiv’s Japanese restaurants. But unlike his successful job search, finding a place to live in Ukraine’s capital is more of a challenge. “I have been looking for an apartment for rent for already two months,” Muliavko said. “Initially I wanted a nice flat, but now I wouldnt even refuse just a room.” Muliavko lives with friends and is hoping to find a one or two-room apartment to share for Hr 3,0005,000 ($115-$190) rent a month. “We just want to find any flat somewhere,” Muliavko said. The supply of rental properties is high — for those who can afford it. But many can’t. That, in a nutshell, describes Kyiv’s home rental market. Slow price rise As of mid-May, 16,500 apartments are available for rent in Kyiv, says Oksana Vengrovska, a PR manager of Olx, Ukraine’s largest online classified ads website.

Four men who allegedly raped a teenage girl in flat above a takeaway in Ramsgate will soon learn their fate as the jury has begun deliberations on their cases. Restaurant owner Tamin Rahani, 37, of Northwood Road, Ramsgate, Shershah Muslimyar, 20, of Hovenden Close, Canterbury, Rafiullah Hamidy, 24, of no fixed abode, and a teenager who cannot be named for legal reasons, all deny three charges of rape. As reported over the course of the four-week trial at Canterbury Crown Court, workers at...

Our chart of the day is the Prime Lending Rate which is what you and I roughly pay in interest when we buy a house or car. And no surprises on Thursday! The Reserve Bank announced that there would be no change in interest rates, so this flat line continues at 10 and a half percent. The repo rate at which the Reserve Bank lends to commercial banks remains at seven. Now Thursday's decision was expected but there's a question mark around the rest of the year because - in fact - interest rates could go up or down. Why would they go up? To control inflation or the rate at which prices rise. Higher rates mean we basically spend more on debt and less on other things, so prices start coming down. Why would they go down? To boost desperately needed growth. But lower rates mean we spend more which could lead to higher prices or inflation. For more news, visit: http://www.sabc.co.za/news

You can always count on Samsung to show you a glimpse of the future. Samsung Display unveiled the world's first stretchable touchscreen display at the Society for Information Display (SID) in Los Angeles this week, and it's absolutely as bonkers as it sounds. SEE ALSO: It's 2017, and Samsung is still launching flip phones Samsung's no stranger to showing off non-flat screens. The company has a history of making sci-fi-riffic displays that curve , flex , and fold. Its latest screen, a 9.1-inch "dynamic stretchable AMOLED display," is merely a proof-of-concept prototype, but still impressive nonetheless. Read more... Most people probably won't notice this, but for some it will become annoying. The lack of a control app is an oversight, especially in this day and age of controlling everything from your phone. The system also really needs speaker stands to elevate the main speakers to the right height. For an all-singing, all-dancing system like this it wouldnt have hurt Philips to include some in the box, especially at this price point. Verdict The Fidelio E6 system is a clever idea, and it plays all its different roles fairly well. Its a good stereo, a great surround system, and an okay Bluetooth speaker. If youre a serious movie buff you may want to look elsewhere, as it doesnt quite compete with a full wired 7.1 surround system, and an audiophile would probably prefer something less booming. But if youre looking for an audio solution for a small space like a studio flat, and you like your movies, then the E6 would be ideal.

The sound, especially in service of television series, is invisibly wide without bringing too much attention to the dynamism of its soundstage. That means the visual wonderment of Legion isn't eclipsed unnecessarily by artificial boom or nerve racking highs, nor does the snappy dialogue of Girls disappear into the overlapping mush best reserved for the emotions of the show's characters. And my wife can enjoy the whispered plans of espionage unfolding during The Americans without have to regularly tap the remote's volume control ever upward, aided by the speech enhancement setting. Look closely and the monolithic mass reveals no visible seams, magnifying perceived confidence this base is more than up to the task of securely holding up most any modern flat panel display without stress. In quick time and from a seated position, that large slab became less and less visible – perhaps even more so in its all-black option depending in setting/decor.

Reflected in stencil-like dining chairs, a teal green door frame and fire engine outlines of cubby holes, the wiring provides design cues throughout the home. The wires work their way down the corridor, into the kitchen and through the wooden grooves of the floor, allowing a feeling of calm by lying flat on the ceiling. As red and black wires thread through the interior, we meet a minimalist example for modern white kitchens . Headlined by a chrome extractor fan leading to an oven, stove and sink, the relatively-tight space creates room for thought in white. A row of tiled inlets mirrors the wall opposite, an industrial choice in white-painted exposed brick. Topped by six Japanese windows, the adjoining wall integrates the wires above and the grey-and-white patterned lino. A peek through the kitchen’s Japanese windows offers a haven drenched in green.
