Charles and Ray Eames are often considered the darlings of mid-century modern design. Their work is so iconic, that even if you don't know their names, you most likely know their work. While they are mostly known for their molded plywood chairs and molded fiberglass shell chairs as you will see from this roundup here they did so much more than that. The couple also designed homes, were avid photographers, did graphic design, made films and were also industrial designers. The two were actively designing together from 1941 until 1978, when their last design went into production. This Eames duo, their story and designs are hands down my most favorite to come out of the mid-century modern movement. There's something so endearing about a couple that worked tirelessly and systematically together, leaving us with so much work that stands the test of time. Erin

Like the effect? Check out these Piper Pendants! The living area is separated from the rest of the apartment with a simple glass wall, that opens up space and exudes class. A single house plant lightens up the entire room and works with the modern lamp. When you have a small space to design, it can be so easy to overdo the white elements in an attempt to make the space seem bigger. Take a leaf out of this designer's book and balance the white with warm wooden features. The kitchen is comprised of light grey stone, that looks geometric and classically understated. The effect is balanced out by tropical timber features. The room is whimsical and full of personality, thanks to a few key elements, such as the contemporary graphic and bright colored carpet. The bedroom is kept simple and cluttered, with a modest bedside table and modern light fixture.

A graphic designer mum of three who turned to drugs after her business failed has been spared a jail sentence and sent on a rehabilitation course. She ended up living in a flat in Ilfracombe while her former husband had custody of the children. She could not afford the drugs she was using and fell into debt to her dealer. The supplier, who she knew only as Jazz, pressurised...

Soviet Photo was not founded by artists, but by a photojournalist, Arkady Shaikhet , in 1926 (see the first issue’s cover at the top). Though its audience primarily consisted of a “Soviet amateur photographers and photo clubs,” its early years freely mixed documentary, didacticism, and experimental art. It published the “works of international and professional photographers” and that of avant-gardists like Constructivist painter and graphic designer Aleksander Rodchenko . The aesthetic purges under Stalin—in which artists and writers one after another fell victim to charges of elitism and obscurantism—also played out in the pages of Soviet Photo . “Even before Socialist Realism was decreed to be the official style of the Soviet Union in 1934,” Nouril writes, “the works of avant-garde photographers,” including Rodchenko, “were denounced as formalist (implying that they reflected a foreign and elitist style).

We all get what this shirt spotted Monday at the Trump Tower gift shop in New York City is getting at it's not that complicated. It's a witty diss at the mainstream media that Donald Trump has made clear is a failing pile of garbage and terrible at its job. SEE ALSO: Donald Trump's inauguration poster has an embarrassing typo But it missed the chance to be a really great shirt all because of bad graphic design. For sale in the Trump Tower gift shop pic.twitter.com/NDuhtTZjQX Edward-Isaac Dovere (@IsaacDovere) March 27, 2017 Instead of a funny take on the STFU phrase, the shirt reads, "Shut the fake up media." That makes no sense, as everyone noticed. Read more... More about Media , Trump Tower , Donald Trump , Fake News , and Watercooler

These two dudes put on their best graphic tees and "bacon" beanies, watched a video called "How to Tie a Tie," and rolled up to San Clemente's City Council meeting with one prerogative: get a 12-foot statue of Paul Walker built on the San Clemente pier, stat. Why? Because it'd be inspiring, duh. Paul Walker helped countless dudes work up the courage to "ask out Shelby," and, like, "stand tall." Plus, they're "pretty sure Paul's cousin went to San Clemente high school for at least a few semesters," and "everyone is so steamed," right now, it'd be the perfect solution to calm down a world that's really, really "P.O'd." This wasnt the first time Jones has walked back earlier coverage of Pizzagate, which at times became rather graphic. In a segment last year in which he talked about Pizzagate, Jones asserted , “Hillary Clinton has personally murdered children.” Jones said Alefantis had reached out to Infowars asking to retract certain statements, and that videos and radio segments in which Pizzagate was mentioned were taken down even before that. “If Mr. Alefantis has other objections, we invite him to let us know,” Jones said, inviting Alefantis to appear on his program. “In issuing this statement, we are not admitting that Mr. Alefantis, or his restaurant, have any legal claim. We do not believe they do,” Jones said. “But we are issuing this statement because we think it is the right thing to do. It will be no surprise to you that we will fight for children across America.
