So we went for more care and twitter, rather than less time. Did you get any response from him or was this just response from everybody else now watching the conversation? There's been lots of response, but non-that I've noticed from Donald Trump. But I would hardly expect a man with his impending job to have time to respond to my tweet.

I learned that Boing Boing seems never to have linked to one of my favorite things on the internet: Zogg, the Cuddly Menace . Jason Yungbluth's brilliant remix of My Little Golden Book About God is as wonderful as it was 478 glorns ago, so I thought it would be fun to perform a dramatic reading to celebrate the impending arrival of the star tankers. Yungbluth ( @IAmDeathRay ) is a cartoonist and "all around sexy beast" living in Rochester, NY. His comic books include Deep Fried, PEEK and the Weapon Brown graphic novel. You can read Jason’s work in the pages of MAD magazine too. Weapon Brown in particular is getting great reviews lately, such as the following from Total Nerd. A parody of Peanuts sent in a grim dystopian techno-future, it was originally published in 2002 but has recently been collected in Omnibus form . https://www.facebook.com/rankertotalnerd/videos/1370649412985232/?pnref=story Do not fail your species.

For those that took a leap of faith with the Wii U (myself included), the lack of games and Nintendo's increasingly shaky financial situation raised questions about its future. Alongside it all, of course, was the impending release of the hybrid handheld/home console Nintendo NX —now known as the Nintendo Switch —which promised to wash away the failures of the Wii U (and to a lesser extent, the slowing sales of the 3DS) with appealing hardware and a stellar lineup of new games. PARIS: US ally Saudi Arabia is "optimistic" about Donald Trump's impending presidency, Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said Monday, hailing Trump's stern line on arch-Saudi rival Iran and promise to defeat the Islamic State group. "When we look at the Trump administration's view as articulated – wanting to restore America's role in the world – we welcome this," Jubeir told a group of reporters during a visit to Paris. "Wanting to defeat ISIS: absolutely. Wanting to contain Iran and prevent it from causing mischief through its negative policies in the region: absolutely, we have been calling for this for years," he said. "Our interests align," he said, declaring that Washington and Riyadh also shared the same objectives on Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, terrorism and "energy issues". "We look forward to working with them (Trump's team) in all the areas that are of interest or concern to both of us," he said. — AFP

Yes, you could infer the answers to some really basic questions on the single market for example, but it's all been shrouded in obfuscation. Until, we think, tomorrow. That's when we get an "Explicit Brexit" - a statement from Theresa May on our goals for the impending negotiation.

There has never been a president quite like him. But, as the author of the definitive account of the Republican party explains, Trump’s proposals and rhetoric have a heritage that stretches back to the 19th century In the run-up to the US presidential election, pundits proclaimed that the outcome would be “historic”. What they meant, invariably, was that they expected Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton to shatter precedent by becoming the country’s first woman president. Instead, Washington DC now prepares for the inauguration of president-elect Donald Trump. But the New York businessman’s victory was also historic. While both his candidacy and his impending presidency call to mind some features of the Republican party’s recent history, they also represent a significant departure from the country’s past political patterns. Trump’s win was one of the greatest upsets in American political history.

STUDIO: Intriguing stuff. That's all from Reporters for this week. From me, James Menendez, goodbye for now. Wood turning much more but not for all, impending. Rain further west, quite a lot, across Scotland, England, pushing to Wales and the Midlands as well. Chilly in the east, that is a problem because as the rain continues to edge East into eastern counties, for a time, that could turn into sleet and snow, perhaps the far south-east, before it fades away.

Our bases in the Philippines and Japan today risk sucking us into a clash with China because of territorial and maritime disputes between the countries along the South China Sea. As it turns out, this is a responsibility that most Americans want to shed . Arguably then, the world will not descend into some violent conflagration in the absence of the so-called American Pacifier. Were going on more than 70 years now maintaining an enormous global military presence. There is no Soviet Union to contain, no Nazi Germany to battle, no impending Eurasian hegemon to stand athwart. Surely this period of peace and stability is as fine a time as any to pull back.

One day after the Chargers announced their impending move from San Diego to Los Angeles, quarterback Philip Rivers commented on the relocation Friday. In an interview with Xtra 1360 Fox Sports Radio (h/t ESPN.com's Eric D. Williams ), Rivers expressed conflicting feelings of sadness about leaving San Diego and excitement about heading to L.A.: I want to be clear that my love for San Diegothe time we've had here, the games, practices and everything about itis special and awesome. That will never go away. But at the same time, and I hope people understand this, I have to get excited and fired up about going up to a new area, representing our team and organization and going up trying to win as many games as we can win. I want to be the same guy I've always been. That's the only way I know. So I'm kind of in the middle of that, leaving behind something that you love and are thankful for, and you want to make sure that everybody knows that, and at the same time I don't want people to think, 'Well, he sure seems fired up to go up there.
