United is now the final Big 3 legacy carrier to roll out Basic EconomyAmerican did so earlier this morning and Delta has had them in place for several years already . Obviously in an industry in which everyone follows the leader (mostly Delta), it's not surprising to see other legacy carriers trying the same techniques, even though each airline has implemented its own variation of what Basic Economy means. The other question is whether these Basic Economy fares, designed to compete with low-cost carriers such as Sprint and Frontier , will be lower than United's previous standard coach fares, or whether the cost of standard economy tickets will simply be increased. Additionally, it's also not clear whether United's new fares will actually be competitive with the low-cost carriers. While it's not a fair comparison since United is only flying Basic Economy on hub routes at the moment, here's a quick glance at all the airlines flying one-way from Minneapolis to Denver on April 18, the first day of United Basic Economy.

The failure to secure these networks leaves the United States vulnerable to lethal cyber attacks on U.S. financial services, national infrastructure, and inter-government communications, according to the report. These outstanding problems have long been known, but the government, including the Department of Homeland Security, has failed to take appropriate action. "Over the past several years, GAO has made about 2,500 recommendations to federal agencies to enhance their information security programs and controls," according to the report. "As of February 2017, about 1,000 recommendations had not been implemented." Critical cyber issues were first made known to the federal government in 1997, the report notes. Still, these networks remain unsecured in many instances and at risk for attack. "Federal information systems and networks are inherently at risk," according to the report.

Apple's latest line of notebooks introduced an entirely revamped keyboard featuring flatter keys built using a second-generation butterfly mechanism, designed to optimize for stability while also maximizing travel. The butterfly mechanism was originally introduced in the ultra thin MacBook , but a newer version was implemented in the MacBook Pro. There have been mixed opinions about the keyboard of the 2016 MacBook Pro due to its vastly different feel compared to previous-generation MacBook Pro models, and it appears the new butterfly mechanism may also be less reliable compared to older construction techniques. A growing number of customers who have purchased a 2016 MacBook Pro are running into issues with the keyboard, including non-functional keys , strange high-pitched sounds on some keys, and keys with a non-uniform feel . There are dozens of threads both on MacRumors and on the Apple Support site .

NEW rules over the manufacture of child car booster cushions have come into force earlier than expected. The new rules were expected to be introduced on March 1 and affect the manufacture of new booster cushions, which must be designed to be used by children 22kg or more in weight or at least 125cm tall. Last year new laws banning car booster seats without a back rest were unveiled. The changes to the rules were delayed until this year, and have now been implemented so it is imperative...

And some activists have called for his birthday party to be canceled. The celebrations are set for Saturday in Matopos in the southwest. The ruling party puts the price tag for celebrations at about $2 million. Activists say that money should be used to address economic problems Zimbabweans are facing. On Tuesday, the European Union gave Mugabe a birthday present that he might not like. The EU voted to extend its travel ban, asset freeze and arms embargo for another year. The sanctions have been in place since 2002 over allegations of election rigging and rights abuses. Independent political commentator Chamunoda Mutasa was not surprised at the renewal. "It confirms that the administration still has a long way in terms of implementing reforms and reversing archaic moves that they implemented and called for sanctions in the first place,” said Mutasa.

Paul Briden 21/02/2017 - 2:45pm The LG V20 is an odd beast, but well worth a look for its raft of innovative and well-implemented features At first glance the LG V20 might seem like something of an oddity; it was awkwardly slotted in between last year’s LG G5 and this year’s yet-to-be-launched LG G6 flagship, it has a premium price tag, it’s a phablet, it has a weird dual-display setup, and it was only made available in specific world regions (yet again, we in the UK get left out). But with all that said, there’s a lot to like about this phone. It’s getting rave reviews in most places you care to look, and in no small part this is due to the fact that it is innovative, quirky, and feature-packed. The price might be a bit high, but you certainly get a lot of stuff for all that dough. So without further ado, let’s take a look at what makes the LG V20 such an appealing handset.

Apple today has been granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office regarding an " avatar editing environment ," which is the company's patent terminology for a Mii-like app that users can visit to craft a digitized likeness of themselves to use throughout the Apple ecosystem. The patent was originally filed back in October 2011 but was just published by the USPTO today (via Patently Apple ). Apple's patent explains that its avatar editing environment would let users create "a representation of their alter ego." This includes a collection of editing features such as different eyes, ears, mouth, skin color, hair, teeth, smile, facial expressions, eyebrows, hair, beard, glasses, hats, and even more items related to the expression of each person's unique identity and fashion. While Apple's new patent sounds like a basic Avatar editing system, the company's wording goes into deeper detail about how far and wide the digital personalities might be implemented across its services.

We also have shared parental leave which provides a huge amount of flexibility and, where that has been implemented most generously in Sweden, back in the 70s, it found that in the 90s, only 6% of men were actually taking that up, which proves that perhaps women actually want to stay at home and choose to stay at home.

Poland considers its dispute with the European Commission about the country's rule of law closed, Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said on Tuesday, a day after Warsaw sent a letter to Brussels defending judicial reforms. Responding to a Commission deadline to implement measures it deemed essential after a series of appointments and reforms appeared to weaken the independence of the country's judiciary, Poland said all has been done according to European standards. "I expect that the matter will be closed," Waszczykowski told the state-run radio Trojka. The Commission said it had received the Polish response and would study it. The monitoring procedure the Commission launched more than a year ago could end in Warsaw losing its voting rights in the 28-nation European Union if all other leaders in the bloc agree to that. "We explained comprehensively what happened in Poland, how the reforms relating to the Constitutional Court have been implemented," Waszczykowski said, a few days after a heated public spat with the Commission's number two official over the case.

S. Trump announced Thursday that he would sign a new Executive Order next week which will address some of the legal issues raised by the U.S. courts. Within the millions affected by the travel ban are journalists, many of whom were caught amidst the chaos and confusion as the initial Executive Order was implemented. In the wake of the order, BBC journalist Ali Hamedani, an Iranian-born British citizen, was detained and questioned upon his arrival at Chicago’s O’Hare airport for over two hours. “I was always dreaming to live here, to write stories here, to be able to travel to places and write whatever I wanted to write about without being persecuted,” Journalist Sama Dizayee. He said his phone and computer were searched, including his social media accounts. ”It wasnt pleasant at all. To be honest with you, I was arrested back home in Iran in 2009 because I was working for the BBC and I felt the same this time,“ he said.

While the music played, the students used a slider to measure their form of pleasure in relation to a specific song. Sensors also measured electrical activity in their facial muscles. Prior to exiting the lab, the participants also took a survey regarding their reactions. After a week, the subjects were put through the same test, except the naltrexone group received placebos and vice versa. The results revealed that participants moved their facial muscles less with naltrexone in their system, which suggests that it had reduced their emotional response to what they were hearing. This was found for both positive and negative emotions: the highs felt lower, and the lows felt higher. The sliders implemented in the study revealed that the subjects' pleasure lessened when listening to their favourite music as a result of the naltrexone, but this did not have an effect on their feelings about the neutral music.

Please respond to that, why does the government not take a unilateral stance and say that EU citizens are safe here? The Home Secretary has said that their status will not be changed except by vote in the House of Commons and the Lords and there is not a majority in the House of Commons or Lords were doing anything about that but the prime minister has spoken to a number of member states who have indicated they are prepared to do a reciprocal deal. But no one is allowed to move on until article 50 has been implemented which is why we need to get this bill passed.

The trend is reportedly improving with the removal of sanctions and as of January 19, the number of international banks that have correspondent relations with Iran has risen to 238. The CBI official also said interbank lending rates have been balanced as a result of the policies implemented by the central bank, noting that last year, the rates were higher than 29% while they have now been brought down to 18.8%. What is more, the average rates were consistently below 19%. While the rates ranged from 17 -24% in the first three weeks to February 9, the average for the month ending Feb. 18 was 18.9%, he said. On the central bank's lending policies to support production, Qorbani referred to backing small- and medium-sized enterprises and revitalizing the housing sector as two important policies on the bank's agenda. Non-Prime subscribers in the US can score free shipping for qualifying orders costing $35 or more - down from Amazon's previous minimum of $49, which was implemented almost exactly a year ago, according to The Verge . An Amazon spokesperson confirmed the new rates with us, though did not detail any specific reasons behind the switch. It's likely the price drop resulted from competition heating up after Walmart instituted its own free two-day shipping policy on orders over $35 last month, according to CNET . How does free two-day shipping work? While the price has fluctuated, the limitations on free two-day shipping from Amazon remains unchanged.
