Moeen Ali insisted no one in the England camp was getting carried away after they underlined their Champions Trophy credentials with a comprehensive 72-run one-day international win over South Africa at Headingley. Wednesday's success saw England go 1-0 up in a three-match series against South Africa, top of the International Cricket Council's ODI rankings. The decisive win was all the more timely given that next week sees the start of the Champions Trophy, a tournament featuring the world's leading eight ODI sides. Hosts England will kick things off against Bangladesh at The Oval on June 1 as they go in search of their first major 50-over title. But before then, they still have two ODIs against the Proteas, with Saturday's match at Southampton followed by a series finale at Lord's on Monday. Ali, whose fluent 77 not out together with captain Eoin Morgan's century laid the platform for England's win in Leeds, said afterwards: "We're only 1-0 up with two games to go, but it's a great start to the summer.

Thompson played nearly six minutes of the fourth quarter and didn't attempt a single shot, a far cry from the player who swished a playoff record 11 threes in Game 6 of last year's conference finals. That player still exists, to be clear. Thompson scored 60 points in a game this season in fewer than 30 minutes of court time. And despite the addition of Durant, his scoring average actually went up (0.2 to 22.3). His two-point shooting was at a career-high level. You could argue Thompson was better this season than ever before. Which is what makes his play now so maddening, but there's little the Warriors can do. They will have nine full rest days until the Finals kick off at Oracle Arena on June 1. They can give him more shots, both in games and after every practice, with assistant coach Chris DeMarco. They can keep the mood loose and his confidence up.

Its boom times for pork enthusiasts. Americans celebrating Memorial Day this weekend -- the unofficial kick-off to summer and the grilling season -- can keep the party going with cheaper pork chops. Even amid voracious domestic and foreign demand, retail prices have stayed relatively low thanks to ample supplies. Bumper grain crops have reduced costs to feed animals, and the US is heading for a year of record red meat and poultry production. While output is booming across the board, pork...

alternative technology and what you can buy this idea about getting rid of that the smallest inner plastic bags story changes possible how we can get used to behaving differently like we did with congestion charging in London but we go to recognise I've got much more to do but it is good to do trials particularly If You Seek independent evaluation to work out does this actually reduce the amount of plastic and if so by how much and it's to be supported I think the whole thing was kick started in Wales by the committed minister Jim Davidson and it shows people can and do adapt to change so why not get rid of the disposable single use bags which to be honest for 5p don't represent that could have value and encourage us to bed tent pitch it's not that much more for multi use baggage.

The Tesla Model 3 is no Model S, as the electric car manufacturer keeps reminding us , but it's still going to have quite the kick. A leaked document posted May 22 to the Model 3 Owners Club message boards provides Tesla enthusiasts the chance for a side-by-side comparison of the new ride and its older sibling. The main takeaway? The Model 3 will do 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. SEE ALSO: Elon Musk promises smoother new autopilot for Tesla cars For comparison, a 2016 Ford Mustang V6 only beats that by .3 seconds. That's right, when it comes to acceleration, the Model 3 competes with a muscle car minus the fumes. Read more... More about Tesla , Elon Musk , Silicon Valley , Electric Cars , and Tech

I've shaken my head, but how could I complain? All I did was support my local team, and I've experienced many, many highs following United, including league titles and European Cups. Along with red friends, we'd goad Blues that they were at Gillingham in the third tier while we were in Turin watching United beat Juventus . For a long time, we chided Blues that we needed a proper local rival, like AC Milan had Inter, Real Madrid had Atletico and AS Roma had Lazio . City, we sneered, were not doing their part in making Manchester a great-enough football city because they were so bad. We had flags celebrating their number of years without a trophy, songs about them being a byword for crapness. We wondered why City would need to have a trophy room in their new stadium since they never won any trophies. Be careful what you wish for, even in jest. City came goodvery goodand they had their Sergio Aguero moment, winning the league at United's expense with the final kick of the season.

Commerzbank cited data from the U.S. Department of Energy saying U.S. production was roughly 540,000 barrels per day higher in mid-May than at the start of the year. "This offsets nearly half of OPEC's production cuts," it noted. Even a decision to maintain oil cuts thus is likely to only kick the can down the road from Thursday's meeting until OPEC ministers convene again late this year. Crude prices are unlikely to rise substantially — and that means the era of windfall profits appears to be over for member nations, at least for now. While analysts at research firm IHS Markit expect OPEC revenues to rise modestly this year after dropping from their peak of $1.2 trillion in 2012, "the total will be less than half the level of 2012, when prices were more than double current levels."

Yanukovych had confided in Putin that he did authorise and order substantial kick-back payments to Manafort as alleged but sought to reassure him that there was no documentary trail left behind which could provide clear evidence of this,” one memo in the dossier claims. The memo continues that “Putin and others in the Russian leadership were sceptical [sic] about the ex-Ukrainian president's reassurances on this.” After the dossier’s publication by BuzzFeed in January, Manafort in his conversation with Priebus challenged the dossier’s characterization of the payments from Yanukovych, according to the operative familiar with the conversation. In conversations with other associates, Manafort singled out the dossier’s use of the termkickback,” explainingYanukovych would never use that term,” according to the operative. Additionally, Manafort questioned whether any of Steele’s sources would be in position to know the contents of a meeting between Putin and Yanukovych.
