BAGAN DATUK: Malaysians must be active and in good health for the country to achieve the National Transformation 2050 (TN50), according to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He said in this regard, the society at every level must practise a healthy lifestyle, which includes regular exercise. "Even at 60 years old, one must ensure that one is active and healthy as age is only a number. "More so as the life expectancy of Malaysians has risen to 73 years for men and 75 for women; therefore it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle," said Ahmad Zahid who is also Bagan Datuk member of parliament. He said this while launching the 'Fit Perak @ Bagan Datuk' here, in conjunction with the five-day Permukiman Mentri Besar Perak programme which ended today. About 5,000 participated in the 'Fit Perak @ Bagan Datuk' programme which began at 7am with various activities including cycling, race and an exhibition put up by government department and agencies.

I needed a computer that could handle computing and match my active lifestyle without weighing too much or decelerating me”. Soon is a very determined student with a bubbly personality and a positive outlook on life, something that is both surprising and inspiring when you get to know more about his background. Soon grew up near Boston, Massachusetts, and experienced a tough childhood through both his adoption from Korea and his time at school where he battled multiple illnesses and poverty. But Soon stayed true to his passion for biology – all stemming from his love for trees when he was a child, often wondering how they grew and what their history was (every tree has a story!). Having started as an undergrad at ASU for two years, Soon skipped his M.A. and went straight to a PhD programlooking at fossils of the Acer family (Maple trees) where there could be a new undescribed species.

Expedia launched a brand new TV ad Friday, timed to drop during CNN's coverage of the Trump inauguration, and it has a very different message than the new president's 'America First' rhetoric. The clip sees a woman travel the world learning about other cultures, helping refugees and fighting for causes she believes in. The theme: Travel broadens the mind and breaks down barriers. SEE ALSO: Hey procrastinators, here's how to score a holiday flight deal If you look over your neighbor's fence, and go see the world, the voiceover promises, "You'll narrowly influence narrow minds. You'll bridge continents, puncture prejudice ... and look back and see that you've made this world a better place." Read more... More about Inauguration , Trump , Travel , Expedia , and Lifestyle

This phenomenon, called convergent evolution, sees species in similar ecological niches evolving similar adaptations—not because they’re closely related, but because they’re faced with the same evolutionary problems. Giant pandas and red pandas are a great example of this. They diverged around 43 million years ago, with giant pandas in the family Ursidae along with other bears, and red pandas as the lonely living representatives of the family Ailuridae , more closely related to ferrets (take a look at giant pandas and red pandas on this zoomable tree of life ). But both kinds of panda are unique among the carnivores in that they're exclusively herbivores. That lifestyle choice has apparently left similar marks on their genomes, as a team of researchers found then they sequenced the red panda genome. Read 8 remaining paragraphs | Comments

Kyiv has recently been subject to unfairly low temperatures, which for most people means the prospect of exchanging favorite clothing items for more practical (and more boring) puffer coats and chunky winter boots is too tempting not to consider. But with picking the right items and using some fashion-friendly tricks, there is no need to give up personal style. One way to brighten up a gloomy winter day is to wear a statement piece, like a white winter coat or sequin Ugg boots. Good old layering is always a good idea too. Here are some looks that the Kyiv Post has picked this week. Olena Kuzmenko, 30, retail store manager: I don't care what's in fashion at the moment, I just wear what I like. Kateryna Zemliana, 27, fashion shoot producer and model: I think that every girl should work on elaborating a personal style. Most of my clothes were made in Ukraine because I really love Ukrainian designers.

The hope is that it leads to a complete change in culture and a redefining of how humanity perceives the world. To bring this new culture to fruition, it’s a necessity that everyone begins to participate. This means sharing information on the Internet, dropping truth bombs in the comment sections of articles, changing one’s lifestyle to fit the new model, and discussing this information with friends, family and even co-workers in real life. Evil can only hold power by operating in the shadows, so the more people that shine a light on it, the more its power is rendered useless. To have any chance of wining the information war, people must let go of political correctness and self-censorship . The stakes are too high right now to worry about hurting other people’s feelings or contemplating your social status in society. The powers that be understand these fears that people have, so of course they want people to disengage politically out of silly anxieties like social rejection.
