BENGALURU: For executives of Indian IT firms, the last year has not been kind. CEOs from Genpact and Infosys to Cognizant have seen their performance bonuses shrink as the sector struggles for growth. US-listed companies, which ask for a non-binding, advisory shareholder vote on the compensation, are saying they have missed their targets and need to be compensated accordingly. Genpact CEO NV Tyagarajan was paid $700,000 out of a 2016 target bonus of $1.12 million, the IT and BPO company said in a proxy filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. He was paid $1.33 million in his target bonus for 2015. “Tyagarajan achieved lower-than target performance on both the financial and strategic metrics included in his scorecard. The 48% decrease in Tyagarajan’s 2016 bonus compared to his 2015 bonus reflects a decrease in the Company multiplier under the bonus plan from 96% in 2015 to 83% in 2016, the impact of lower-than-target Company performance on achievement of the financial metrics in his scorecard, and lower-than-target performance on the strategic metrics in his scorecard,” Genpact said in the proxy.

Warren, a former Harvard professor, writes that she spent years researching the “great and terrible story” of middle-class decline. Today, college debt hobbles many families. Job insecurity grows as electronic breakthroughs wipe out more jobs. Wealth keeps amassing in hands of the 1 percent who control corporations and investments and who stash their money in overseas shelters. “People are angry because trade deals seem to be building jobs and opportunities for workers in other parts of the world, while leaving abandoned factories here at home,” Warren continues. “…Today, this country works great for those at the top. It works great for every corporation rich enough to hire an army of lobbyists and lawyers. It works great for every billionaire who pays taxes at lower rates than the hired help. It works great for everyone with the money to buy favors in Washington.

Tax brackets for individuals would be compressed from seven to just three - 10%, 25% and 35%, lower than the current top rate of 39.6%. "It's a great plan," Trump said at the White House on Wednesday. "It's going to put people back to work." Killing off the 'death tax' The proposal also eliminates the estate tax -- referred to by some opponents as the "death tax" - a levy on property including cash and real estate transferred from deceased individuals to their heirs. But with the tax plan limiting most deductions, it could expose more of an average American household's income to taxes. Gary Cohn, the president's chief economic advisor who unveiled the plan along with Mnuchin, dubbed it "the most significant tax reform legislation since 1986, and one of the biggest tax cuts in American history." The goal, the White House said, is for the reforms to propel the US economy to three percent annual growth.

Despite continuous stories in the media reporting that President Donald Trump has the lowest favorable rating in his first 100 days of any president in modern history, Congress’s approval is worse. A new Gallup poll shows Trump’s favorable rating stands at 40 percent, one percentage point above 39 percent for House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI). Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s favorable rating is eight percentage points lower than Ryan’s at 31 percent. But the honor for having the lowest rating goes to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), which stands at 27 percent. “As the possibility of a government shutdown looms, fewer than one in three Americans view either partys U.S. Senate leader favorably,” Gallup reported on Wednesday. “Although both men have been prominent figures in Congress for decades, roughly a third of Americans dont know either well enough to have an opinion.

With the 2018 BMW 4 Series , BMW enhances an already great car with a raft of very subtle changes that add up to a more driver oriented enthusiast car. The 4 Series uses the same platform as the 3 Series, but comes with a wider front and rear track and lower center of gravity for better handling. The 4 Series leads its segment in sales and since it debuted at the end of 2013, the 4 Series has racked up over 400,000 sales. So BMW was wanting to tweak it, but not drastically change it. Changes are not only about appearance, but also include re-worked chassis dynamics and updated electronics. Cosmetically, starting from the front the new BMW 4 Series gets new LED headlights standard with adaptive LEDs optional and were optioned on our test car. The front apron has been changed slightly as has the rear apron on the car. Some players, including Vinci, have criticised the wild card awards, saying a doping offender should have to start from scratch and build up their ranking by playing in the lower tournaments again. "I am not an individual that's angry or bitter. I let things go," she told a post-match news conference. "I am being offered wild cards from tournament directors. I am not getting a wild card to receive a trophy or a gold platter. "I still have to go through matches and win them.

DJI is hosting an event on May 24, with all signs pointing to its smallest drone to date touching down amidst the gathered media (not literally, we imagine). On the heels of its well-received Mavic Pro drone, chances are good DJI will introduce an even tinier flier, one that could come in at a lower price than the $999 (999, AU$1,689) Mavic Pro . As noted by The Verge , a shrunken version of the Mavic Pro, believed to be called the Spark, was spotted on the company's Chinese forums at the beginning of April. That page is no longer up, but DJI also holds a trademark for the Spark name, which only backs up the rumors. According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), export demand helped the country increase production by 7.3% compared with the same month in 2016. Top 10 best selling cars in Britain In the year to date, 471,695 cars have been produced, which is 33,305 more than the same point last year. Output was driven by overseas demand, which helped to offset a decline at home, with domestic demand down 4.3% this quarter. SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes said “UK car manufacturing is accelerating thanks to billions of pounds of investment committed over the past few years. A large proportion are the latest low emission diesels and it’s essential for future growth and employment that we encourage these newer, cleaner diesels onto UK roads and avoid penalising consumers who choose diesel for its fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.

Will the Trump administration’s proposed cut in small-business taxes create a windfall for the rich? The new tax proposal released by the White House today—“the biggest tax cut and the largest tax reform in the history of our country,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin declaredpromises to cut the corporate tax rate to 15 percent, and also cut to 15 percent another business rate called the “pass-through” rate. This is how most of America’s small-business owners pay their taxes. By reducing it, Trump promises to put more money in pockets of America’s small business owners, allowing them to expand their operations and hire more workers. But if it passes, that new lower tax rate is likely to benefit mom-and-pop businesses far less than it helps the ultra-rich. That’s because it’s actually the rich who earn most small business income. In 2016, according to estimates from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, the top 1 percent of small businesses earned 50.

Image 11 of 32 Image 11 of 32 The chassis, meanwhile, is simply sublime. The quality of the damping is such that the car is both tightly tied down to the road surface and composed over bumps, potholes and ridges, meaning the tyres stay firmly pressed into the tarmac at all times. Those Cup 2 tyres, incidentally, find enormous grip on a dry road. With helper springs at the rear axle the car now finds so much grip and traction that it seems to be all but impossible to unstick the rear tyres coming out of a bend. Even in the lower gears the two fat tyres simply dig in and fire the car down the road. Whereas certain sports cars can be technically very capable on the road but somehow quite distant and uninvolving, the new 911 GT3 is both spectacularly competent and enormously rewarding to drive. Much of that can be attributed to a quite brilliant engine, which pulls hard and insistently from low down before lighting up in the mid-range and exploding across the final 2000rpm.
