On paper it should be better than the Gigabyte P37X as its got a 94.24Wh battery compared to the P37Xs 75.81Wh. However the Gigabyte racked up over double the battery time than the Aorus at 3 hours 23 mins. Admittedly, this is foremost a gaming laptop, so its not intended to be used while travelling or to be away from a power supply for long, but we would have liked to have seen a little more oomph in the battery department. We liked Aorus has created a very high performing 17.3-inch gaming laptop thats portable and is encompassed in an attractive package. It achieved exemplary scores in our benchmarks, no doubt due to the overclockable CPU under the hood. Aorus coupled software makes the tricksy dark magic of overclocking a doddle. We disliked The X7 v6 is a little pricey, not necessarily over-priced as it does come with excellent components, however if youre looking for better value with only slightly lower performance weve recommend something like HPs Omen 17 or Acers Predator 17 X.

The U.S. Coast Guard says its crews are responding to an oil spill on the lower Mississippi River that left an estimated 840 gallons of crude oil in the water. Coast Guard officials said early Wednesday that the spill happened southwest of Venice, Louisiana. The Coast Guard said skimming vessels, boom and other materials were being used to reduce the spread of oil and collect oil from the water's surface. It planned to conduct a flight over the area on Wednesday to assess the situation.

As this job seeker's "faith in the front-facing application process eroded into near oblivion," a lower-tech strategy took its place. I have a great job, and there's no rush to leave. As a director at a national nonprofit I've built some fantastic teams, but over the past year they've gotten so good at what they do that I've begun to wonder whether I'm still needed. So I started slowly casting about for new challenges, initially by applying (perhaps naively) to openings at well-known tech companies like Google, Slack, Facebook, and Squarespace. Read Full Story

MUMBAI: Kajaria Ceramics is set to gain from the new housing policy which has now been now broadened to include middle income (MIG) segment says a March 2017 HSBC Global research report. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (MHUPA) has broadened the affordable housing policy and now households with income up to INR 18 lakh are also eligible for government subsidies for home loans under the Credit linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS). "We calculate this could reduce the purchase price by 2% to 21% and higher benefits will accrue with reducing ticket size. The overall benefits for the buyer could be even higher considering the earlier budget announcements relating to supply-side incentives which are likely to be passed on," the HSBC report said. Demand in tier II and tier III cities will be more responsive to the new policy. Tier II/tier III cities have a lower housing ticket size due to cheaper land and lower construction costs on the one hand and a higher number of households qualify the set income criteria which will result in higher participation versus metropolitan cities.

LONDON: British police shot a suspected attacker outside the Houses of Parliament in London on Wednesday after an officer was stabbed in what police said was a "terrorist" incident. Four people were killed and 40 injured after being run over and stabbed in a lightning attack at the gates of British democracy attributed by police to "Islamist-related terrorism". The building in the heart of the British capital was immediately sealed off and MPs and staff ordered to remain inside. David Lidington, the leader of parliament's lower House of Commons who is responsible for arranging government business, told MPs: "What I am able to say to the house is there has been a serious incident. "It seems that a police officer has been stabbed, that the alleged assailant was shot by armed police. "There are also reports of further violent incidents in the vicinity of the Palace of Westminster," he said.

In order to zero in on a contrarian, one can use several parameters. When it comes to equity one can consider PE, PB, market-cap to GDP and comparison with 10-year yield. When it comes to real estate, the parameter to look at is the gap between mortgage interest rates and rental yield. Lower the gap, better it is as this suggests that real estate has become attractive. The case in point here is: From 2009 to 2014, the rental yield in America was much lower than the mortgage interest rate, suggesting that real estate had become a contrarian asset class. Now, in the current situation, among all the asset classes, the most contrarian asset class seems to be fixed income. INVESTING IN DEBT: THE CONTRARIAN BET It is often thought that a hawkish RBI is bad for debt market and vice versa. However, history points to the fact that a hawkish RBI keeps the debt space lively given that the target is to lower inflation.
