"Then the last ball I tried to keep my shape as much as I could. "It's more an instinctive way of batting, and Farby helped me a lot." Ali, who was left out of England's preceding 2-0 series win over Ireland, made his name as a top-order batsman but now comes in much later for England. "I find batting seven tough," he admitted. "But I'm trying to be good at it and get better at it." Ali's inclusion was probably aided by the fact that all-rounder Ben Stokes was also back in the side Wednesday after a successful stint in the Indian Premier League. Stokes, however, suffered a knee injury -- having had surgery last year -- at Headingley and is now set to have a scan. But Ali believes England, who suffered an embarrassing first-round exit at the 2015 World Cup, are now much more than a one-man band in the 50-over game. "We've got the team that is capable of (winning our next seven matches)," he said.

South Korea and Thailand became the first two teams to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2017 Sudirman Cup on Thursday after they defeated respective quarter-final opponents Chinese Taipei and Denmark. The Koreans were unrelenting in their crusade against Chinese Taipei and required only four matches to seal the scoreline they needed to advance and set up a semi-final clash against the Thai contenders. That all-Asian affair will play out after the last remaining European representative, Denmark, fell 3-2 to Thailand despite their best efforts to revive in a mid-match comeback. Sapsiree Taerattanachai was the star of the show for Thailand and bookended their quarter-final triumph with wins in the mixed and women's doubles, losing no games and adding four victories to her tournament record. Full results can be found at the tournament's official website , while the latest schedule can be found at SudirmanCup.

Thursday's squad announcement saw Southgate opt for the likes of Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Marcus Rashford and Jermain Defoe instead of Rooney in attack. The 19-year-old Rashford, who started for United against Ajax, has inherited the mantle of "teen sensation" that used to belong to Rooney and his inclusion in the senior squad means he will not feature for the England Under-21s in this year's age-group European Championships. Kane's call-up is the first time the Premier League's golden boot winner has been included in one of Southgate's England squads, with the Tottenham Hotspur striker having missed all six of the manager's previous matches in charge through injury. Kane's club colleague Kieran Trippier has received a first England call-up after impressing for the Premier League runners-up, with Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson and West Ham United's Aaron Cresswell also included in a 25-man squad.

Mahal surprisingly became No. 1 contender several weeks ago with help from the Singh Brothers and went on to face Randy Orton for the title at Backlash. The Singh Brothers were once again difference-makers, as they distracted The Viper enough to allow Mahal to win and become the 50th different WWE champion in the company's history. In addition to his look, the Calgary, Alberta, Canada, native is of Indian descent and appeals to the massive and largely untapped Indian market for WWE. Even so, elevating Mahal to the top spot in the company is a major risk for WWE considering how he had been portrayed in the years leading up to his improbable triumph. Mahal was previously utilized primarily as enhancement talent meant to lose matches and put over other Superstars in the process.

(MIAMI) Police in Florida have managed to arrest the Joker without Batman's help following reports of a green-haired man with tattoos on his face pointing a gun at traffic. A Miami-Dade police report says 29-year-old Lawrence Sullivan was arrested Tuesday evening and charged with carrying a concealed firearm. A booking photo shows the word Joker and a knife-pierced Batman symbol across Sullivan's forehead, while tattoos of long, stitched cuts are on each side of his mouth. His green hair matches that of the comic book and movie villain. Police say officers found a loaded handgun on the self-described tattoo model. Sullivan was being held on $5,000 bail. Jail records didn't list an attorney.

Many of those matches were played with Thomas on the court, but Marcus Smart has the potential to bounce back from a horrific Game 4 performance in which he scored just eight points on 1-of-9 shooting. Smart led Boston with 27 points in the team's 111-108 Game 3 upset. Why the Cavaliers can cover the spread Cleveland does not want to give the Golden State Warriors too much of an advantage in the NBA Finals, assuming they meet for a third consecutive time. The Warriors already have the home-court edge and will be more well-rested after sweeping the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. The Cavaliers simply need to pick up where they left off in the second half of Game 4, when they outscored the Celtics 65-42 after trailing by 10 points at the break. Cleveland's Kyrie Irving took advantage of Smart defensively with a career playoff high 42 points, while LeBron James added 34 points even though he was in foul trouble.

He loves us." The 45-year-old Pochettino first cut his coaching teeth in Spain with La Liga club Espanyol, for whom he also played as a central defender, and then at Premier League side Southampton. Pochettino last week had guaranteed that he would be at the club next season, adding he could not leave in any case because: "There is no buyout clause in my contract." "I will stay here next season," Pochettino told reporters before Tottenham's 6-1 victory over Leicester a week ago. "There are many rumours, but I am committed with the club, no reason to leave the club. I will be here for pre-season on July 3. Don't worry." Levy announced in Hong Kong that AIA would now be known as the club's "global principal partner" and that the AIA logo would be emblazoned across Tottenham's shirts in all their matches until the end of the 2021-22 season. No cash figures were revealed for the size of the new sponsorship deal, but it is certain to exceed the club's previous deal with AIA signed in 2014 which was widely reported to be worth $20 million a year.

Thomas McMullan 9 min 39 sec ago Security Fingerprints are supposed to be unique markers of a person’s identity. Detectives look for fingerprints in crime scenes. Your phone’s fingerprint sensor means only you can unlock the screen. The truth, however, is that fingerprints might not be as secure as you think – at least not in an age of machine learning. A team of researchers has demonstrated that, with the help of neural networks, a “masterprint” can be used to fool verification systems. A masterprint, like a master key, is a fingerprint that can be open many different doors. In the case of fingerprint identification, it does this by tricking a computer into thinking the print could belong to a number of different people.
