Trust causes the brain to release oxytocin, which stimulates productivity and raises motivation. So, how do you build trust? He cites eight leadership actions, which I also recommend, from a non-scientific perspective, as a mentor to entrepreneurs. Start with these to build the great business culture you need to succeed today: Show appreciation for individual contributions. Your team, and every individual, needs regular recognition for their accomplishments. The most effective recognition is a daily "thank you" from leaders, and positive feedback in front of peers. Monetary rewards are nice, but don't generate the long-term trust and loyalty you need to set the culture. Make sure everyone knows what you expect. No team member feels good or performs well when they don't know what needs to be done. Regular communication, both written and oral, is the place to start.

“This American carnage stops right here and stops right now,” Trump said. “Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs, will be made to benefit American workers and American families.” Power to the people He also said Friday’s inauguration marked a “major, major watermark” in American history, that power had been transferred, not only from one party to another, but from Washington to the people. Watch: Highlights from Donald Trump's Inaugural Speech “For too long, a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have bore the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. ... That all changes starting right here and right now,” Trump told the crowd. He said he will invoke “a new vision” for America, one where workers abandoned by shuttered factories and diminished economic fortunes will not be forgotten.

But consider it more carefully and mostly everything it does is about deeply satisfying a dynamic urge to take each new corner a little higher up the tinny rev range of the 188bhp 2.0-litre lump. The rearbiased xDrive chassis, while less agile than the Giulia, rewards confident inputs with tenacity and the viscous sweetness of a sucked Polo mint. Because the Jaguar’s body movements are more stately than the 320d’s, it’s tempting to frame it as the warm bath of the trio – something to slip into while you bob about contentedly on the ebb and flow of its plush primary ride. But that’s reductive. In fact, the XE’s control weights are just so well tuned that you half-forget you’re applying the physical effort needed to drive it at all. The steering doesnt shoulder its way into your consciousness with the BMW’s heft or the Alfa’s rate of response.

Because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another. But we are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you... the people. For too long a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have born the cost. Washington flourished but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land. That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment. It belongs to you.

Trump also used the typical 1930s diction of the traitor within: For too long, a small group in our nation's capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs. And while they celebrated in our nation's capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land. The traitors to das Volk, the people, are the intellectuals and persons with an international outlook, and socialists secretly working for an international cabal, and the peacemakers and diplomats who were seen as weak and feckless.

Demand and history are not the only things affecting the price of a flightjet fuel costs can move the needle as well. Fuel costs also increased by 8.6% in December, but are still lower than they were three years ago. However, when jet fuel prices increase, the higher costs are generally passed on to the traveler . Even if you're planning on redeeming travel rewards for your flight rather than paying out of pocket, it's important to understand the fluctuations in airfare. A handful of rewards programs have revenue-based award pricing, meaning the number of points or miles you pay is tied to the ticket cost. For instance, with the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards program, award rates correspond to the actual fare in dollars, with demand for a certain route leading to higher rates. There is a silver lining to Hopper's report; it predicts that fares to popular warm-weather destinations — including Las Vegas , South Carolina and Florida — will decrease before the end of the month.

In his speech, Trump warned, For too long, a small group in our nations capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost. But Adelsons presence was a reminder that the self-interested elite will carry plenty of influence in Trumps Washington. Trump himself has seen to it by filling his administration with moguls, donors and representatives of the very Wall Street firm, Goldman Sachs , that he vilified on the campaign trail. The new president wants to turn the Education Department over to Betsy DeVos, who appears unfamiliar with some basic education policy issues but just happens to be among the GOPs biggest donors. He wants to hand the Commerce Department over to Wilbur Ross , an investor who specializes in corporate restructuring and was also a major GOP donor. And thats to say nothing of Trumps own conflicts of interest now that hes decided to maintain ownership of his business empire ― a decision that has drawn public condemnation from the Office of Government Ethics , among others.

As always, it was disorienting to attempt to gauge his sincerity. The festivities were spotted with partisan moments. During his speech before Trump was sworn in, Schumer drew a chorus of boos that turned to cheers as it became clear that he was wrapping up. At one point in his address, Trump also seemed to chide the very lawmakers filling the seats around him: “For too long, a small group in our nation's capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have bore the cost.” But later at the lunch in his honor, Trump chatted with Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia, as Schumer occasionally chimed in. Members of Trump's inner circle were mobbed everywhere they went, including his son-in-law and top adviser, Jared Kushner. Before entering the lunch, Trump signed a flurry of documents in his first official act as president, handing out pens to the congressional leaders huddled around him as mementos.

Trump is still saying he’ll drain the swamp. Trump framed his inaugural address in us-against-them terms, pitting hardworking Americans versus the Washington establishment. “For too long, a small group in our nation's capital has reaped the rewards of government, while the people have borne the cost,” Trump said. “Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country.” He vowed: “That all changes, starting right here and right now.” In reality, Trump’s cabinet is made up of millionaires and billionaires, many of them poached from the top ranks and alumni lists at Goldman Sachs. These individuals have benefited from the system Trump’s pledged to overturn, and some are already vowing to cut the corporate tax rate.

Ideally it's that last one, because it means you also bought yourself some time. But if you used your everyday credit card, whether for cash back or travel rewards, you're potentially paying an average of around 19% in interest annually . That can get costly, depending on how expensive your holiday tally was and whether it added to a balance you were already carrying. If you're getting buried by interest charges on that card, explore your options for debt consolidation. More on that later. >MORE: NerdWallet's best balance-transfer and low-APR credit cards If you used a store credit card, make sure you understand what you're on the hook for, and when. Many store cards may allow 0% financing through a "deferred interest" offer, which sounds similar to a 0% APR introductory offer you might see from a general-purpose credit card -- but it's not the same thing.

President Trump (I hate having to write that) took the podium at the Capitol Building to deliver his inaugural address , following in the footsteps of many great, and some not so great, men before him. While his speech was certainly more coherent than anything he said during his campaign, it was repetitive, uninspired, and even plagiarized words from a Batman villain . From mundane lines like "When America is united, America is totally unstoppable," to promises he has already broken like, "We will follow two simple rules: Buy American and hire American," the speech felt computer generated. While he did make sure to empower the people by accusing the government of reaping rewards at the cost of its citizens, it felt disingenuous given the fact that he's still maintaining ownership of his company and is certainly reaping new rewards of his own thanks to a government he now controls.
