iPhone owners in the United States spent an average of 40 on premium apps and in-app purchases on each of their devices in 2016, according to new data shared by analytics company Sensor Tower. That's up from an average of 35 in 2015. Unsurprisingly, most iPhone users are spending their money on games. 80 percent of U.S. App Store revenue in 2016 was generated by games, and on average, iPhone users spent 27 on game-related content. Spending on apps in the entertainment category - such as Netflix and Hulu - was at 2.30 on average, compared to 1.00 in 2015, perhaps due to Netflix starting to offer in-app subscription options at the end of 2015. According to Sensor Tower, Netflix contributed over 58 million in gross revenue to the entertainment category in 2016, up from 7.9 million in 2015. Average spending on music also rose slightly in 2016, from 3.

From this more basic set of parameters, Runyon and his colleagues have suggested the following definition: A planet is a sub-stellar mass body that has never undergone nuclear fusion and that has sufficient self-gravitation to assume a spheroidal shape adequately described by a triaxial ellipsoid regardless of its orbital parameters. As Runyon shared with Universe Today via email, this definition is an attempt to establish something that is useful for all those involved in the study of planetary science, which has always included geologists: The IAU definition is useful to planetary astronomers concerned with the orbital properties of bodies in the Solar System, and may capture the essence of what a planet' is to them.

Magnum photographer Michael Christopher Brown had created a photography class in which he gave 12 children iPhones and equipped them with the skills to tell their own stories. These kids have no direct connection to the outside world; no way to share their story and, vitally, to have others respond. My Own Account was about going beyond the photographs, creating an opportunity to engage with the people behind them. We took inspiration from social media to create an exhibition in which visitors could show their love for the photographs that they really connected with. These interactions were recorded and shared with the children of Zaatari in what, for many, was their first interaction with the world outside since arriving at the camp. editorial design editorial graphic design

(credit: NASA/JHUAPL/SwRI ) BOSTONAlan Stern, principal investigator of the New Horizons mission to Pluto, started his talk at the American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting by showing off the Hubble Space Telescope's best image of Pluto. It was greeted by laughter, as it took only seconds for the audience to count the dozen pixels that contained actual data. “You may laugh again," Stern said. "We wrote numerous papers based on this image.” He's now got a lot more data to work with, though he had to be very patient to get it. Not only did it take months to get all the data from New Horizons back to Earth, but it took decades to get the probe approved in the first place. Stern shared that tale with his audience in Boston. Soros heavily funded Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and even Mnuchin donated to her campaign. Mnuchin himself has supported the Democrats for a long time, as he donated to Obama’s campaign years prior. Even though Mnuchin may have never been close with Soros, it seems strange that Trump would select him for this position knowing their shared past. Mnuchin has since stopped working for Soros and now runs the hedge fund Dune Capital. Although their current relationship is unknown, Dune Capital has apparently received hundreds of millions of dollars from Soros. This represents another interesting piece of the puzzle, as Trump has publicly criticized hedge fund managers, like Mnuchin, on many occassions. Trump has said that hedge fund managers were “ getting away with murder ,” which is why he wanted to put an end to the carried interest loophole giving private equity and hedge fund managers preferential tax treatment.
