PUCHONG: Ride-hailing service Uber has been put under the spotlight after a pregnant woman, who was robbed at knife point by its driver during a ride on May 21, has miscarried due to the trauma. Cosmetic advisor Wong Mei Yan, 26, who was six weeks into her pregnancy when the robbery took place, said she found out about her miscarriage after a visit to the Serdang Hospital early this morning, following internal bleeding. "I couldn't sleep for three nights following the incident. It caused me so much stress and anxiety, especially knowing that the victim's accomplice is still at large," she told a press conference, here, today. While the driver, who had driven a heavily tinted car, has since been arrested and remanded on May 25, his accomplice, who was also in the car the night of the incident, is still at large. The matter first came to light when Facebook user Eddy Ong shared a post about helping Wong get to the police station, after seeing her waving for help from the road side after being robbed.

Which when I first saw it, I thought it felt strangely stilted, maybe a bit over-theatrical. Second time round, I realised it's a film about a woman in a position whereby she has to perform certain roles. And that awkwardness is very deliberate. The theatricality is on purpose. It's a multilayered film

What is best out at the moment? I will say this for the last week, it won't be in cinemas for too much longer. It's The Levelling. I want people to see it on the big screen if they can. It's a story about a young woman who goes back to a family farm where she has unresolved family issues. Fantastic performances, beautifully shot, wonderful soundscape,.

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A 28-year-old Myanmar woman was found dead in Taman Belimbing, Bukit Tengah after being stabbed six times. Central Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the factory worker Tin Mar Moe, clad in her uniform, was found lying covered in bloodstains by passers-by at 8pm. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the scene showed the foreign woman being chased by a man after coming down from a factory bus around 7.30pm. Nik Ros Azhan said a scuffle ensued and the man, armed with a knife, stabbed the victim's body before fleeing. He said the 26-year-old Myanmar man left his bag containing his belongings at the scene and investigators managed to arrest him nearby. He added a knife used to commit the crime and a mobile phone belonging to the victim were recovered while the body has been sent to the Penang Hospital for post mortem. "The case has been solved with the arrest of the suspect," he said, adding that the case was classified as murder under the Penal Code.

It's German." Here's the three-minute director's cut: Of course it's cold. It's German. Is this an admission that Germans are cold people or that Germany is cold or that Germans like cold things? I can tell you Germans don't like ice in their drinks. Ice water is not exactly common. A woman who grew up in Germany told me the reason for this: Her friend's parents said if you had a hot meal and cold water, your teeth would shatter. My host-mother in Trier simply explained that nothing was cold because her husband had sensitive teeth. Fair enough. Still, what a strange commercial, though I suppose it's better than comedian Dave Attell s idea for a Jägermeister ad: A guy comes out of a hedge. He's covered in mud and blood. He's holding one high-heel shoe. Did I just eat a stripper?' Jäger. It's worth pointing out that in the early 1970s, Jägermeister sold about 500 cases to the United States.
