RT Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan hit out at French President Emmanuel Macron’s accusations that the Russian broadcaster had false reported on the French presidential elections, Sunday, saying that “there are no facts” to support the 'disgusting' claims against Russian media. SOT, Margarita Simonyan, (Russian): "Using the logic of Macron, and those around him - and some of them we're going to sue and our lawyers are already working on this for the simple reason that there were never any false reports by Russia Today, and no evidence exists. Using his logic, Russia should expel all Western media because the Western media is always against Putin and always campaigning for the Russian opposition, thus it is certainly trying to interfere in our elections. We were not against Macron. We were not for Macron. When the leading French newspapers on the day of silence, breaking the law, on the Election Day in France, were published with headlines ‘I Beg you vote for Macron’, we tried to keep a balance and for that, we are branded as propaganda.
