Today marked exactly hundred years after over 600 South African soldiers perished in the English Channel during the First World War that started in 1914. The commemoration coincides with the annual Armed Forces Day, over which Commander in Chief President Jacob Zuma presided in KwaZulu-Natal. "Be quite and calm my countrymen, for what is taking place is exactly what you came to do. You are going to die...But that is what you came to do, Brothers we are drilling the death drill'. These are some of the words of encouragement from a fellow compatriot Williams Wauchope, when their ultimate fate became inevitable. But how much do South Africans know about their history? Each RFID reader only spits out timestamps and the identity of the bee, so if you want to know what the bees are doing, you need to parse all that information and turn it into things we can understand, Russell says. For example, how many trips a forager makes per day. While honey bees are known to be very consistent and tend to stick to one species of plant and often one type of reward over a day, a phenomenon known as floral consistency, bumble bees were thought to be more generalist. So researchers were somewhat surprised to find the bees tend to make strings of foraging runs for the same reward on a given day. One possible explanation is that foraging for pollen versus nectar requires very different behavioral regimes, so it makes sense for them to focus on one at a time, he says. Also, in many cases pollen and nectar are not both available from the same plant species.

As a member of the Microsoft HoloLens product and engineering team, I get to see some pretty cool things on a regular basis. Any day of the week, I have a front-row seat to see how our teams, customers, and partners are making a world where mixed reality changes the way we live, work, play, and learn. I’m consistently amazed by the creative ways HoloLens is being used to solve complex problems, improve business outcomes and results, and change the way we interact with technology. Today, I have the privilege of sharing with you one of the latest examples of HoloLens innovation that is happening, this time within the healthcare sector. The operating room as it exists today Stryker, a leading global medical technology company, has set out to improve the process for designing operating rooms for hospitals and surgery centers. You may not be aware of it, but surgical disciplines from general, to urologic, orthopedic, cardiac, and ear nose and throat (ENT) use shared operating rooms.

Stephen Colbert apparently feels that one group has gotten the short end of the stick since Donald Trump became president. The Late Show host opened Monday night's episode by observing that the media has replaced ISIS as the United States' biggest threat. Referencing a Friday tweet in which Trump dubbed several mainstream media outlets the enemy of the American people, Colbert joked that it wasn't fair to the terror group. You know who I feel bad for? ISIS, he said. They try so hard, sorry ISIS. If you want to get on the list, you have to publish photos of Trump's inauguration crowd. Then he'll be really angry at you. Watch the full clip below.

It is highly likely the model will have an electric-only range, which could be around 20-30 miles. Its closest rival would be the BMW X5 xDrive40e , but with an inferior power output to the expected Range Rover hybrid it's possible that the Range Rover could better the BMW's 0-62mph time of 6.5sec. How JLR's new hybrid powertrain works This system, which will give the big SUV very low CO2 emissions, is expected to be used in future hybrid models of the Jaguar F-Pace , XF and XJ . A diesel-electric hybrid version of the Range Rover has been available since 2013, but this will be an all-new powertrain. The current Range Rover model lineup has a choice of a diesel or petrol 3.0-litre V6, a 4.4-litre diesel V8 and a range-topping 5.0-litre V8 in the Range Rover Sport . Other big SUVs are set to get plug-in variants, including the Bentley Bentayga and forthcoming Lamborghini Urus .

So, with a good asset combined with a strong team the key ingredients for a successful mining story are in place. The trick now will be to race on ahead and get Relief Canyon built. The plan is to get the results of the PFS releases in early 2017 and then to press the button on construction soon after. Because this is a project that’s already permitted, and which has a plant already in place, the build time is expected to be a relatively short nine months. All of which means Relief Canyon could be up and running and in production by the end of this year. There remains the question of the approximately US$12.2 mln in capital, or the approximately US$22 mln the company will need if it chooses to mine the project itself. As at the last set of accounts there was approximately US$10 mln in the bank. A subsequent gross US$7.5 mln raise has boosted the coffers, and a line of credit with Sprott Resource Lending that undertakes to match the equity raise with an equivalent debt facility is currently being negotiated.
