Nintendo gave the world a glimpse of its upcoming game Super Mario Odyssey last week, which showed Mario running and leaping around a brand new setting for the Mario series: a real-looking city. The internet thought it looked a bit like Grand Theft Auto with the mustachioed goomba-stomper as the main character, which is a pretty funny idea, juxtaposing the bright and fun world of Mario with the violent and profane one of GTA . Well that idea has become a reality with a mod the injects Mario into the gritty world of Grand Theft Auto 4 , police shootouts and all. It just goes to show that Mario's antics in the real world probably wouldn't be as well-received as they are in the Mushroom Kingdom. Read more... The Federal Constitutional Court of Germany has ruled against banning the far-right National Democratic Party (NPD), in Karlsruhe, Tuesday. The decision was reached due to a 'lack of evidence' that the NPD violates Germany's constitution. This was the second failed attempt to outlaw the NPD. SOT, Peter Richter, National Democratic Party (NPD) Lawyer (German): "The sword of Damocles is gone. The NPD is and remains a legitimate party, which one can vote for like they can for any other party. There is no need that the vote is wasted due to it facing a threat; and we will prove that in the upcoming state elections in Saarland, where I myself will be joining the race as a candidate. I am certain that the NPD through the boost it received today through the predicted acquittal will manage to obtain the five percent and enter Federal Parliament." SOT, Lorenz Caffier, Chairman of Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (German): "It is important that we continue to deal with the NPD, regardless of the outcome of the ban.

He knows that Trump will encourage those movements, too. So, Trump and Putin are a combined threat to the European union, which Soros avidly supported from inception. Soros put his money behind the Ukrainian coup because he saw Putin as an autocrat with whom the democratically elected government of Ukraine was aligning itself. If Trump is Hitler to him, Putin is Stalin, who overran eastern European nations like Hungary after Hitler left. Soros likes democracies that decide things his way, but Ukraine chose a leader that was reaching for closer ties with Stalinist Putin. Democracy is great so long as it leads to the kind of government Soros believes is best, but must be fought if it leads to nationalism or leans toward autocratic leaders (at least, those that Soros sees as autocratic). Soros says he is concerned that Russia will interfere in this year’s upcoming European elections with with more “fake news.

Potts, followed by Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Audra McDonald as Garderobe and, finally, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette. On the left side, we've got also got Kevin Kline, Luke Evans and Josh Gad, along with the classic fairytale's main star Emma Watson. Lotta wigs happening here, but to be fair that's kinda what we expected this lot to look like and Frozen 's Josh Gad certainly looks like he's having the time of his life in another potential Disney classic. Ahead of a physical release for the new Signature Special Golden Diamond Collector's Super Edition of Disney's animated classic, Beauty And The Beast, the original film has been given a digital release in the US iTunes store. One customer downloaded the supplements and took to Twitter to share an image of the new, live-action (well, CG, but pseudo-live action) designs for Lumiere and Cogsworth, as will feature in Bill Condon's upcoming remake.

So, to get things rolling, let's start with a disaster movie directed by the guy who produced Independence Day , and starring Gerard Butler... 35. Geostorm We can imagine that some might already be describing Dean Devlin’s upcoming sci-fi movie, Geostorm , as a guilty pleasure. We dont do guilty pleasures. This one simply looks a hoot. It’s a two plots for the price of one by the looks of it. There are climate controlling satellites on the one hand, that try and prevent storms that could destroy the planet. And in the midst of that, there’s a plot to assassinate the president. Gerard Butler, no stranger to films with such plots, leads a cast that also features Abbie Cornish, Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris and Andy Garcia. The film marks Devlin’s big screen feature directing debut, and hopefully it lives up to its B-movie presence, and gives us one of 2017’s most fun nights out at the pictures.

On May 5 of that year the Mexican army defeated the French army in the city of Puebla. Within five years the French no longer occupied Mexico. Mexican Independence Day is on September 16, by the way. It celebrates the start of the Mexican War of Independence against Spain in 1810. 10. NEW YEAR'S DAY IS THE MOST UNSAFE DAY TO DRIVE. A lot of people in the U.S. think that New Year's is the most risky time to drive because there are more inebriated drivers on the road, and of course you should always be safe on the road and never drink and drive, but roads are typically more dangerous during summer holidays like the 4th of July and Memorial Day. Thanks for watching Misconceptions on Mental_Floss video. If you have a topic for an upcoming Misconceptions episode that you would like to see, leave it in the comments.
