Silicon Valley Comic Con, now in its second year, took over the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, Calif. this weekend bringing with it thousands of attendees, dozens of costumed heroes and, well, a few robots, too. The event was formed by resident technophile as well as famous Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and comic book maven Stan Lee back in 2016 as a Northern California extension of the massive celebration that takes place down in San Diego each year. While Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC, for short) shares its roots with its southern cousin, this show is slightly different in the sense that its smaller in scale and attendance and, instead of focusing solely on pop-culture, extends an invitation to local tech companies to partake in the three-day event. To that end Sony and Facebook both acted as sponsors to the event offering demos and giveaway gifts to attendees, while the convention floor itself played host to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

ACTION star Chris Pratt swapped his superhero gear for a formal suit Friday as he was awarded a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame for his contribution to cinema. Pratt, 37, found fame as loveable slacker Andy Dwyer on NBC comedy Parks and Recreation but has since become one of Hollywood's most sought-after leading men thanks to roles in Jurassic World and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. "I'm a man of faith and I believe that God works in mysterious ways, and gives us signs and gifts in life. And those gifts oftentimes come in the form of people," he said, paying tribute to his mother. "Oftentimes we weren't cash-rich but we were never love-poor," he told a crowd on Hollywood Boulevard that included Guardians co-stars Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Michael Rooker. The actor thanked filmmaker James Gunn for casting him as Star-Lord in Guardians – a role he said had changed "so many lives", from children in hospital to his real estate agent – and acknowledged Marvel for "taking a chance on the chubby guy from Parks and Rec.

When it comes to our modern day society, there is no doubt that we are being told how to live and what our lives are supposed to look like. When we are born we have our parents imposing their ideas and beliefs onto us about what is right and what is wrong and then from there we are usually enrolled into the public school system. Here is where a lot of our natural, inherent creative abilities unfortunately come to die. In many cases, the school system doesnt celebrate gifts in the realm of art, music, poetry etc. Rather, the more logical analytical ways of knowledge are celebrated, such as math, science, and memorization. Sure, these are important gifts as well and they should be celebrated, but not all people fit into that mould. And then what happens to those gifts that are left untapped and never brought forward into our world for everyone to enjoy? Well, society wants us to believe that those gifts do not fit into our system and we can’t make a living by utilizing them.

Grandpa’s musical gifts might be then carried on to grandson via morphic fields rather than DNA. Morphic energy fields may instruct the epigenetic makeup, the chemical storage houses. Sheldrake’s philosophy also holds that past life memories could pass from lifetime to lifetime through a soul’s morphic energy field. These memories would be nonlocal in nature and therefore not anchored in the brain or a particular life. Etheric Fields The word etheric is often used as a substitute for the terms subtle body or aura . There are actually independent etheric fields around every vibrating unit of life, from a cell to a plant to a person, as well as a specific etheric field that is connected to the body, as described under “Special Human Energy Fieldsbelow. The term etheric is a derivative from the word ether, which has been considered a medium that permeates space, transmitting transverse waves of energy.

Oprah Winfrey is so culturally omnipresent that it's easy to forget just how precise her gifts are. Her daily talk show is more remembered for splashy moments of genius spectacle-makingYou get a car!, the Favorite Things episodes, blockbuster interviewsthan for her more surgical skills. Anyone can put on a reasonably big show, but it takes a particular gift to find moments of real connection within that spectacle. For someone seemingly born to be a star and hardly reticent about her high-flying lifestyle, Winfrey had a purely intuitive knack for what her audience at home would be curious about; for a professional talker, she was a startlingly good listener. Those skills are put to use in HBO's new movie The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks , airing Saturday. It's been nearly four years since Winfrey had a major acting rolein what could have been a rote supportive-wife role in Lee Daniels' The Butler , she stole every scene she was in out from under Forest Whitaker.
